See, we both can make claims that the others points and examples are irrelevant and it’ll just go in circles. I point out logs name schema doesn’t mean you can’t take away everyone’s permanent pet, but pet permanency is irrelevant. I point out a pet removal change had gotten reversed, and that’s irrelevant because the spec in question is a pet spec according to logs naming schema. Even though the removal of said pet was at best a quarter of the total which they balanced around. Then you’ll respond with, “but logs says pets(not the pet in question mind you) are doing half or more” just on the previous line alone. To which I return to pointing you at the point of it being about permanent pets. Following that up with “permanency is irrelevant” leading to me repeating that: the removal of said pet was at best a quarter of the total. Everything I have said is backed by data and zblizzards decisions.
Everything you have said is based on emotions. Hence why you wrote a short novel in the last post.
PS. Hati was a part of the BM hunter artifact weapon. While BM did lose Hati after Legion they didn’t lose the rest of the pets. That’s reason number one why your comparison is irrelevant.
I’m neutral in the sense that i don’t believe every spec should have a pet. I just really want to see them there when they feature heavily in lore. It gives the class flavor. I also enjoy fdk. I like though that this iteration of unholy builds on dk’s lore as a necromancer.
And further proof to my last post. You’re not seemingly able to comprehend examples and comparisons. Nor able to have abstract thought. Data only works when the data accounts for all the variables, which none of your data has and all of mine did.
You act like no one but the three here that have posted about wanting it back, which so far by count is tree for and three against on the forums. Which means your data of us being the minority is now bunk. Especially when you factor in WoWhead, and the numerous Reddit posts. But, let’s not count those, they’re irrelevant right?
What horse am I beating that’s dead? That your data is poor? That you’re just sitting their poorly trolling the forums? “I linked logs, and they call x pets, so anything that has pet is pet spec.” or no I’m sorry it’s “Don’t care if pet is perm or temp, just that pet is high number” no no, wait, it’s “I said it’s not, so it’s not.”
You’re trying to debate someone who’s posted multiple forum threads about something as trivial as a water elemental hardly anyone wanted as a pet. You could likely explain it 50x and they won’t get it cause they’re coming from the “but i waaaaaaaaant iiiiit/why can’t I haaaaaaave it” place …
End of the day perma-pet is history and I salute the devs as it’s always been the worst part of playing a Frost mage (removing it means it never again becomes the go-to gameplay and I support that 100%).
They could have buffed it to compare, then on top of which added customisation options to the elemental – Akin to like they did with the Warlock pets & guardians to bring out some more ‘fun’ aspects.
Read any of the thousand posts explaining, in great detail, why the pet was a bad idea from the start and why it can never be a competitive option. Permanent water elemental’s only purpose is RP, and you can get that from a non-combat pet.
I’m going to just quote what an earlier poster Alivenkickin said earlier in response to your thoughtless comment.
Yeah for all you Mythic+285 players it was worthless. But for some who just quests and does solo content it was important for three reasons.
It did damage while ice blocked
It could draw aggro to start a fight giving you a little time to ramp up
It did a distant frost nova, allow you to get in a few early hits.
Imo if they do bring it back, I hope it’s just an ability we have and not just for frost. For all specs. They should change it, however, to a frost construct, arcane construct, and fire construct for each respective spec. It doesn’t make sense for a random elemental to be helping a mage. Mages in lore have always had constructs. Elementals are for shamans.
