Ion's Thoughts on Permanent Water Elemental Removal

By definitin they were. If lw was still stronger the devs would have lost nothing leaving weaker bubbles there as a choice. The removal of choice is the definition of forcing something.

Okay and i think i saw at least 5 other pvp mages complain when the change launched so i don’t have a reason to believe your anecdote over theirs.

They chose not too, that is the decision they made.

You dont even play mage.

5 sub 1500 mages on the mage forum isnt a credible argument.

I would if the devs would respect their lore. I was surviving on copium, df beta loop made it obvious they didn’t care. I’m gonna laugh if the class becomes a ghost town in a year or so of being neglected again. It’s pretty consistently neglected held up by random trinkets and borrowed power for like 3 expansions now.

But i mean why invest in a class i know can have its feel and lore changed on a whim?

I actually briefly came back when i heard we were getting the rework then dumped the class again when i heard they were axe murdering bubbles.

You don’t know this if they are then that’s fine, but you’re assuming again.

So for someone who doesnt play mage in any relevant content you sure seem to have opinions on a class you dont play.

Its a safe assumption because anyone actually good at PVP wasnt losing bonus damage for a single root.

What if i don’t want the hundreds of hours i’ve sinked into this class since legion to be a waste? I don’t have to put up with bad treatment and it’s well within my right to ask for better treatment while i’m avoiding bad treatment. I hope karma comes for you some day, that in some game, something you love about it is taken away through the combination of whiners and devs that randomly declare war on the thing you love. I hope the way its done is just as cold, leaving you full of copium only to obliterate it in the most unceremonius way possible.

I feel dumb for ever defending the lw vs we fork because it’s obvious bubble haters never respected people who feel differently.

Its a game man, no need to get so upset over it.

I dont hate you nor do I hate bubble. I am simply saying is mage isnt a pet spec and people refusing to adapt is the issue

This seems to imply going back to the status quo magically makes us a pet class. If that is true, mage has been a pet class sinc cat and therefore lonely winter should have never been added let alone be made so powerful it outshines and destroys the spec’s identity as a pet class.

I’m more upset at the wasted time and the treatment. It was really underhanded to manipulate the entire class population against a core piece of its identity and then pretend we didn’t want it. I wish our dev had the honesty to not have included modera’s pet, fel storm’s pet, and all the water elementals in our class hall and table. maybe i would feel better about the time i spent in the game and played something else, if at all.

And if it’s just a game and you have no investment in this, why are you trolling this thread so hard? You’re just happy to see someone else bleed, you’re not any better than me because part of you wants to shut us all up.

We cant go back to something we never were. Like I cant explain this anymore than I already have.

I’m not trolling. How am I happy? I’m just telling both of you how it is.

You guys are complaining about something that’s not going to be reverted.

I’d rather have combat than this junk we have called outlaw. You don’t see me throwing a fit in the forums about it.

If we never a pet class, then getting the option to have bubbles around like he used to be doesn’t make us a pet class again. Your logic is running circles around itself and makes no sense and I’m not the only person to point this out. If getting perma pet makes us a pet class, then we never should have had LW to begin with. If we were never a pet class, giving us weaker bubbles back as an option makes us lose nothing either. In fact, why is LW even on the tree anymore? it’s a boring aura. It only had value in erasing bubbles.

Maybe you should throw a fit instead of telling other people what to do, you’re not expending any less energy. I fully expect you’re right and that’s another reason I’m not playing my mage, I’m not padding the metrics of a rework I don’t agree with so they can get some data-driven reward (and it’s why I periodically lapse my sub, I love DF, but I can’t let this go unpunished). I know mage is in a better spot, but I refuse to reward them for torching my class like this. I’m not going to ignore over decades of lore spanning even outside this game for one of my favorite classes or silently accept the fact they rigged the data against one of my favorite abilities to remove it. That’s scummy. Period. I’ll say it over and over again, and maybe, even if it doesn’t change, Ion will know to ask more questions the next time a dev decides to axe murder class flavor and fantasy for someone else. Many mages who like bubbles have admitted to taking LW because it didn’t feel like an option, lonely winter was just that good. I won’t shut up about that either. Also bubbles ain’t that bad if people aren’t complaining he’s forced on them. So maybe it should have been stronger anyway.

Oh good, I’m not alone in seeing this.

Ele is gone. It’s time to move on.

I have zero reason to throw a fit.

And they are a minority.

Citation needed.

Ele was removed.

And may he never return as an active pet again.

Do you hate active pets? And have you ever mathed out the uptime of bubbles? And have you noticed that it has buttons and tons of stuff on autocast just like any other pet?

Honestly, the thing I enjoy most about Affliction is no pet. I play frost on my DK cause no pet. I accept pets on my BM hunter but that’s about it.

Yes, I see it’s buttons and auto-casting (other than having to put his aoe freeze on my spell bar). I’m just anti-pet for most classes and especially when a pet is only a “thing” for one spec.

So was Hati and her double-pet mechanic, but she and it came back. Can’t lose hope yet.

Hair isn’t back. Also BM is a pet spec not a spec with a pet so irrelevant talking point again.

For someone who says they are “in the know”… Hati is back. You can literally go talk to Thorim and get Hati, and there’s a toy that turns your main pet into Hati. And, Hati was basically the initial form of the double pet mechanic, and it came back.

And, no, it’s not irrelevant just because BM is a pet spec vs spec with a pet. An irrelevant topic you keep bringing up using irrelevant Warcraft Logs naming schema.

That’s cool. It’s still irrelevant like every other point you have made.

Yes it is. BM is a pet spec. Hati is a pet for a pet spec. Water ele is not.
