Ion says conquest is a participation reward

I’d be all for that.

so i just opened my chest and got a nice ilvl 400 belt, combatant warforged, its so nice, i even got the achieve for completing my S2 glad set. unfortunately i got a 410 belt from warfronts last week or the week before, so another pvp item straight to the scrapper.

at least this weeks CP item is a 400 helm, i can replace the ilvl 400 helm i got autoattacking Ivus a few weeks ago.

Oh good. Sounds like gearing is easy and quick, and now people who actually want to do BGs will be there, not those that are there just for the gear.

Quick and easy though pve. Sounds like lots of incentive to PvP.

Naw because they’re all of doing pve for gear or AP. That or unsubbed. Lol

Weird. I have np getting into BGs any time of the day/night, whether it’s random or epic random or brawl.

Yea the way random bgs work you’ll get ques up until the end (nobody at all playing the game). Even swtor still has okay que times at peak hours.

Have you checked out the arena (or rated bg) lfg though? Lol

Different names every bg so I’d say many are still doing Bgs.

Too many specs and classes aren’t desirable for RBGS. Again, that is a balance issue, not a gear one.

This isn’t really a great determiner though. Faction balance difference means that you’ll get faster/slower ques depending on what side so you’re going to face off against different people.

You would also notice more on horde side (less alliance queing and therefore less variety). I’m bad with names so I don’t really notice. I definitely saw this same human dk a few games in a random bg que session. Wicked mog and picked on me a lot lol…

Lol it’s all additive… If one aspect of the game sucks (balance) but gear rewards are amazing (or vice versa) people will still que.

If everything sucks (rng gear rewards, lengthy cap grind compared to past expansions, boring AP grinds and crappy balance) then nobody will be interested and participation sucks. Right now all of that is true.

My two good friends that unsubbed griped about all of those things, not just one. In mop/wod we would gripe about some of those things but we kept playing because the others were okay.

wasn’t the same in WoD at all

we got pvp gear that was equal to regular raid gear from honor (which you could grind all day without penalty) and made progress even from losses

we got BIS pvp gear from conquest, equal to mythic raid gear or better (when in pvp combat)

the cap from rated/bg’s was shorter in WoD for better pvp gear and it was all on vendors, ensuring that we avoided dupes

WoD was nothing like legion or BfA, not even remotely

Actually an 8 will get you one 400 from the cache. 10’s have a chance at dropping a 400 at the end (better chance if you make the timer), with 410 in the cache.

The cache is what’s relevant, since that’s what’s time limited, like the Conquest cache and the raid lockout. You can easily get a dozen end of dungeon pieces in a week, so some of them will forge to cache levels if not higher.

Any gear can titanforge. I got a 390 from a Mythic 0 once. I also got a titanforge pair of boots from the PVP cache despite not done any rated this season. (other than a handful of 2’s until my friend severed a tendon in his arm in a window installation accident)

Titanforges can’t be considered since it’s a lottery.

There’s a pretty simple solution to awarding stronger PvP items, but it would have to come with a deterrent for using them in PvE as well as an advantage in open and instanced PvP. Bring back Resilience.

it’s called versatility.

But versatility still has a use in PvE. Resilience is strictly PvP and would contribute to an items level. It would have to give a sizable advantage in PvP and the items regular stats would have to be lower than their PvE counterparts.

that was the point. it makes it so you aren’t completely useless outside of pvp unless you carry a separate pve set. the devs made that change intentionally. the stats can match PVE counterparts because PVErs consider vers to be a trash stat. raid dps will not go pvping to chase down vers gear even if was higher ilvl.

My point is bring back resilience would solve the PvP gripe about gear levels, not to argue how versatility is the new resilience because they’re similar.

The more pieces you get the more titanforged pieces you’ll have. If anything, you should take titanforging into account more than base ilvl.

For example, I have a piece of sinister aspirant’s gear - the blue PVP gear that comes from end of battleground drops, assault crates, and air drops - that titanforged all the way from 360 to 420. But that only happened because I get half a dozen pieces of blue PVP gear a week.

Mythic+ is like that: you have good chances of getting pieces that titanforge to above 415 if you spend a few hours running them every week - as opposed to titanforging of raid or cache gear, which is relatively rare.
