This.
If itâs awful just do the content to replace it with better gear.
Just like they call grey garbage from callings ârobust rewardsâ, they call the fail that is Torghast and completely imbalanced Covenants âExciting and Extremely cool.â
That was kind of what I meant, op said we should all just be able to use our covenant gear but some it it is useless
you still donât understand
itâs not my problem that stats are useless, itâs blizzards
they made the stats
crit doesnât increase my dmg it gives me a CHANCE to deal more dmg
haste increases cast speed, attack speed, energy regen, and cd rates so itâs good for me
mastery gives me a % boost in something such as more frost dmg done or pet dmg
vers flat out increases dmg and gives half of it as reduc
they are useful, crit is not
Just as I imagined. They pigeon hole everyone into a linear path and call it a success. It stops them from having accountability and they can write the numbers off to the shareholders. Round of applause to their bean counters and analytics peeps.
And where is this notion coming from that these stats are flawed? Again, you are telling the creator who had exactly in mind that each stat benefits a class that they are wrong based on your ideas. If you know better, I do believe they are hiring. Why not actually be in the position to be the creator instead of trying to tell the creator your views are what is right?
You can seriously wear a mix of every stat and do the content. In Wrath I played Assassination rogue. You know how much leather had armor pen which wasnât really all that great for me but it got the job done? A lot of it, and you know why? Because Blizzard did not create their entire design of their classes around one stat some random Joe sims to be âthe best.â
But, I thought all the people replying to threads saying things like âTheir silence means this is how it isâ or âGearing is Greatâ were right! /s
Also, maybe it would be worthwhile to have a thread of constructive feedback and ideas to improve PvE gearing and make it on par with how satisfying the PvP gearing system is.
Thatâs the long game though and the system doesnât really feel great. Iâll try to explain what I mean.
With Valor you save up a currency with a weekly cap, and after 2-3 weeks you could just buy the one good item you wanted. Itâd be pretty strong too, a little bigger than entry level.
The purpose of this system was to supplement the other systems in the game. You did the content and even if you were unlucky, youâd eventually have a piece of gear that would be similar to what youâd get in the raid. So if you were solely a casual player, you could have a good chunk of non-tier raid gear by the time the raid was stale anyway. If you were a raider with bad luck on, say, a nice cloak, youâd know that with the work put in, youâd definitely get a comparable cloak for that spot.
Other factors is that you could get this currency right off the bat from dinging the max level, and that you could see yourself collect it. So it honestly felt like you were working for something specific, and to me, that felt great.
Covenant gear isnât the same, really. Thatâs the justice points vendor in the grand scheme of this, hidden behind time gates.
My enjoyment of the game, or lack thereof, is not influenced at all by what he has to say.
you still have this notion that I believe only in the meta
if you wear a mix and match of stats youâll maybe have 10% of each
you wonât do well in anything competitive but if you play solo doing world quests every day youâll be fine
Covenant gear serves the purpose of being buffer gear pretty well though. Just like badge gear was in the past.
I uninstalled the game. I spent the whole week playing WoW while I was sick and came to the conclusion, itâs not worth my money at the moment. I donât hate the game, but I refuse to run the treadmill any longer. Good luck to all those out there. wiggles toes
I mean, the bad class balance, the low payoff rewards for time spent and the drip feed renown system, its too much padding for that played time metric. Also, the world quests take far too long to do and torghast is just plain not fun.
So you donât care about the Meta, but you talk about being competitive which is essentially anything Meta. The goal is to reach benchmarks. Blizzard doesnât balance the game around the tryhards, itâs been balanced around the average player. And a player in mix stat gear can do normal raid content as long as they meet the benchmark for dps checks alongside healing and the ability of the tank. And it can be done at an item level that is relevant to the content, it doesnât need to be over inflated to succeed.
I think pvp and pve gear should be separate.
I donât think you can compare the two. At least from wrath the gear you got from badges was a huge upgrade compared to covenant gear.
Now why would blizzard do that? It will give people a chance to get gear and once they have the gear unsub and come back 6 month later. If they keep gear drop low it keeps you on the treadmill for gear. They most likely did some market calculation to see how much people will stay vs how many will quit due the low gear drop rate and decide is more profitable to keep low drop rate.
upgradeable gear is stupid when it comes to pvp and it shouldnât be locked by rating either
I think that upgrading is ok for rated, but the cost is stupid. It costs like a whole honor cap to upgrade one thing to 226.
I also think 7 ranks for bg gear is stupid and takes way too long to get. Cut the ranks down or reduce the cost.
Seriously stopped caring what that guy thinks or says long ago.
Hes the main problem with WOW right now.
I donât think you can compare the two. At least from wrath the gear you got from badges was a huge upgrade compared to covenant gear.
Both served the purpose of being buffer gear. I donât really know what youâre talkinâ about. Badge gear was there to pad your bad luck and fill in your holes of unlucky dungeon drops until you ultimately replaced it with raid/pvp gear.
Covenant gear also fills that void nicely. Especially right out of the gate on a fresh character.
