I mean if they don’t want to fix the drop rates, giving us something that feels more rewarding than anime would be nice. Even if I got 10k anime instead of loot, I would feel jipped. I don’t care about anime. Class balancing is not happening enough though. It needs to be weekly.
A lot of people play this game to be completionists and have xmog, so nah it isn’t.
Ion at least realizes there is a problem, but he has no idea about proper solutions.
- Make a path to 233 weapons and 226 gear for M+ that isn’t RNG and matches PvP/Raid.
- Increase raid drops.
im sure he’d be an adequate developer for Candy Crush or tic tac toe
Also let me trade my loot regardless of ilvl upgrade.
No. But I wouldn’t mind if the definition of “upgrade” were loosened. (Example - if I have a high level 2-hander weapon, let me trade an equal level offhand to someone else.)
because it’s true. Most players will quit once they’re geared up. Most players don’t care about anything other than gearing up and being OP. Once they achieve that, they most likely quit until the next patch/expansion when they can reset the treadmill.
We significantly reduced the rate at which players earn item rewards, but at the same time also stripped away randomness and tried to give everyone more clear goals to pursue and control over their progress towards them
Having 3 or 4 random choices vs having 1 random choice doesn’t strip away randomness. In fact it is worse because sometimes you have to choose between two pieces that might be beneficial. For example, I had a 216 piece and a 200 piece in the vault and I had to choose the 200 piece because of the "reduced rate of earning item rewards"
.
Bring back badges for PVE gear. This isn’t hard. It worked before and it would work now.
I agree.
Taking Badges away from raids (and dungeons) was a huge mistake.
Give us back our deterministic loot from raiding. It doesn’t have to be best in slot. Just so long as we have some way to work towards a guaranteed item for all the effort we put in.
The weekly loot box has not been helping there.
Found him, the one lone white knight telling us there are no issues.
There is no good news, there is nothing a PVE player can do but PVP because we don’t get enough or any loot and we mostly get stuck just over 200 iLVL when PVP players are pushing gear at 226 with ease, that’s not working and most likely Blizzard will end up telling us PVP is too easy to gear in and remove the vendors instead of fixing PVE.
Lone White Knight? Hardly. I’ve been with this game since the beginning. I’ve ran my fair share of instances, raids, and heroics and gotten good RNG and I’ve gotten awful RNG. Listen to my tale of Woe. Back in Wrath I mained a rogue, I ran ICC for the first 3 months it was out, never missed a lockout, and this was when you could run all difficulties without a shared lockout.
I didn’t get a single upgrade in the three months I ran it. Never missed a raid, the best I achieved was TotGC items and it only lasted so long. When the guild started pushing higher progression, they replaced me with a better geared rogue. It was easier to teach them the mechanics than it was for me to keep them back in my awful gear. BC, you know how many times I ran content on my alts to never get the ugprade I needed? The Phoenix bow from Prince. The Dragonspine Trophy from Gruul. Watching my guild get 2 to 3 upgrades in Twilight Bastion Blackwing Descent when week after week I couldn’t get a weapon upgrade, let alone get one from heroics. I finally got an upgrade when ZG/ZF were re-released and it was the bow after 17 runs.
RNG is just that, RNG. You get one expansion where Blizzard rained gear from the heavens and realized they made a stupid mistake with it and you sit here and act like the game has always been that way and you can’t imagine a time when you couldn’t crap your pants and get raid quality gear for doing so. You still get loot, just not at your speed. From a creator’s standpoint it is working as intended.

So him enjoying the game and not sweating having loot rain from the sky is a white knight for Blizzard? You know, there’s more to the game than just loot or gear upgrades? God forbid players do more than just raid or spam mythic dungeons all day. the game is fine. You just feel entitled to loot at every boss fight and Blizzard is trying to make loot an actual accomplishment.

Just go back to Ghostcrawler’s design, he’ll always be the better designer than you Ion.
Thats exactly why i’m so excited for his new Riot mmo.
Hopefully It turns out great
You know, there’s more to the game than just loot or gear upgrades?
saying this with a straight face? I doubt it. Enjoy your pet battles or whatever else you care about in game.

I will, and I’ll enjoy it a lot more than you starving for you’re next loot drop
I’m curious about the RPG. I’ve always liked the art style from Battle Chasers, and the game they were advertising has what appears to be a similar art style. It has my interest.
Well, Riot knows how to put a game on the market, both valorant and LoR are incredibly successful. Also the League artstyle Is beautiful and the lore is rich, i have a lot of high hopes for this gane
There is no spec where 40 of any secondary stat is better than 100 of any other.
That’s not really true, currently the only reason to log on is to knock out a few dungeons / pvp whatever you do and log off until the vault.
Badges would give players a reason to play more during the week to save currency for something.
“We think we can do more to make the experience of running dungeons and raids feel more satisfying when you don’t get a specific item you were hoping for.”
All talk. Until I see a vast, heavy decrease of Elitism on the forums and in-game, then it’s just snake oil.
How many per run? Could I run 20 +2-6 keys for 226 piece of gear?
PvP has at least a minimum rating before you can get set ilvls. You would need to put some of limits on content completion to be able to purchase gear with tokens (such as clear a m+ 14 to be able to purchase 226 m+ items and clear the equivalent raid boss on the specific difficulty to be able to purchase that gear).
