The best thing for them to do is ignore it all and actually just keep working on it.
We’ve already seen what happens when Devs bow to the pressure of announcing dates. CDPR is what you get. People and their fascination with dates, it’ll either get here or it wont. When youre done with the parts of wow you want to do just unsub and check up on it once a week.
People act like they dont have daily access to the internet ffs.
I think a portion of folks want development update, although I suspect many care more about a date but I would be fine how they’re coming along and teasing with video or screenshots of new zone or the new raid, whatever to keep the player base invigorated for 9.1 than go months of the death knell silence.
If I was blizz, I won’t hint a date but emphasize we want to have content in a almost pristine state before announcing a date.
I mean they laid people off in the esports department, because live esports events have not been a thing… because of the pandemic.
So, in a roundabout way, you are correct.

I absolutely agree we need a unscheduled announcement from blizzard or Ion Hazzikostas by this afternoon. We have waited and waited and nothing has been said or done. Now is the time or never to get back to the community and start damage control.

Can he? Yes. Will he? Doubtful and if one does occur there will only be prescreened questions and obfuscation.

Is classic TBC releasing before 9.1? If it is, wouldn’t be surprised if the servers crash from everyone in retail going to classic.
He’d be nuts to put his neck/credibility on the line before everything that makes the cut for 9.1 was nearly done.
