I hear the gnomes and goblins are competing in releasing the first colored contact lenses to the market in Azeroth. Though I hear that the goblins used an explosive compound that may require some to use a blindfold for life.

The forced escalation of war was what made BFA’s lore look like it was written by throwing darts at decisions.

See Vanilla? It had undercurrents of skirmishes. Then onto Burning Crusade it was building up.

Then in Wrath the tensions escalated with Wrathgate and finally exploded throughout Cataclysm.

THAT is how you transition into a faction war. Not because “Hey guys we’re all friends but I think they may attack us in 100 years so we go kill all!! Errr…For the Jail- I mean FOR THE HORDE!!!”

i knew, oh yes, i knew, they were not gonna give us high elves and velfs would still be blue with one eye color. i knew this. i knew this because lightforged draenei have 2 skin colors. 2. it finally hit home that the devs arent terribly interested in the health of the alliance, and do the bare minimum to keep us subbing. thankfully, this time around, the bare minimum includes some great stuff for humans!

Wow he said it does not make sense for blood elves because they have evolved… I think he should get that lore checked personally. But I guess we are putting all our races in a bubble now or at least he is. He stated similar views for zandalari warlocks which also has lore plausible points in vol’dun. I guess this is one of those arbitrary design choices.

I mean I do agree that’s an arbitrary choice determined by non lore factors -in this case, aesthetic design ones- but Blue Eyes for Blood Elves (as pretty much any Class Combo) it’s one of those things that can go either way, because it’s just about “is this subgroup enough to be representative or is it an outlier?” That’s the design philosophy at play. Can Zandalari be Warlocks? yes, can there be blue eyed blood elves? yes, they are? could there be human druids? yes. The thing is none of these are deemed representative of their races and are rather outliers.

But the decision itself of what is deemed “representative” or “outlier” is entirely arbitrary into itself and TBH could be changed at discretion -ie new class combos in cata, new skin tones for every race-

He did say those textures could be applied to any model so I have to wonder which teclxture it was intended for. Perhaps it was a void elf texture. Perhaps the ingame high elves are labeled blood elves in files. I am rather curious.

Indeed, the thing is that the eyes just are unlabeled, so they could be for anyone. There are like 3 eyes that look Void Elven (since they are unpairing eyes from faces, it makes sense to give races with one eye color more options) but there are 3 more that really don’t fit any race IMO. Still no idea for whom those greenish/blue could be; they remind me of Maldraxxus and Bastion colors more than anything…

AFAIK there are no high elven colors on the files, mayeb it’s because they will remain baked into the skin? maybe just haven’t been added yet? Who even knows.

I will have to see what customization awaits blood elves. If we get fel blue, fel purple, fiery red, orange, orange-red, orange-yellow, and maybe a pink eye color then I guess I won’t care so much about losing a sky blue. One of the two colors of azeroths blood ; /. I wonder how azerite eyed blood elves would have taken to that titan blood magic.

IMO I’m not too optimistic and I think we are only getting green and yellow shades, which is kinda lame, cause I really want red. Still, wait and see I guess.

Azerite eyes would have looked pretty neat tho.

Not gonna lie, would be cool if only GM toons had blue eyes. You know to match their font colour here on the forums.
