It'll also be apparent with modifier macros if the modifier is the same as your self-cast key (alt by default).
I don't know if this is an error in WoW thinking that the key is being pressed and held, or it could be an issue with your OS or even your keyboard incorrectly telling WoW that the key is down. But usually just pressing alt (or whatever your self-cast key is) a couple times will clear the issue.
This just happened to me... but logging out and logging back in fixed it. Next time (if there is a next time) I will try pressing alt a few times to see if that works.
I just got this today. I'm escorting Li Li. hope logging in and out works

You are the absolute man. Thank you
I found that logging on another character and going into the options clicking on "Auto Self Cast". Cast buffs/heals on myself then turning it off cast on self again this way then logging on my other character solved my issue twice. I have no idea if it will help you or not but you can try it for yourself.
It is happening to my horde warlock character but not the alliance warlock. relogging did not fix it
I just encountered this problem in the opening stages in Warlords of Dreanor expansion. This problem is with both my alliance and horde warlocks. I notice that my marco key is what is not working but other items on other keys do including my minion. A level 93 warlock in Warlords of Dreanor still does work. I have re logged but does not seem to solve the problem.
added: All of my characters are now having this problem. Marcos that have worked for months now are not working and not just in Dreanor but everywhere. Does suck the fun out of the game. As I post I see that all realms are being restarted. Perhaps this will solve this problem since all suggestions on the forum that I tried has not worked.

Alt-tabbing issue?
Same here I tried everything to get rid of the bug but nothing would work
Do I need to start quoting myself again?
One more to the list. Same bug here.
Lol....
This isn't a problem on blizzards end. This is an issue with the addons you have installed. Clear your folders.

No clue what happened but I alt tabbed out and back in and things started working for some reason.
Just so everyone knows the simple solution is to turn Self target to Auto than turn it off. you have to set the keybinding.
Happened to me today. Just updated a bunch of addons. Seemed to be fixed after disabling all addons, reloading, and then re-enabling addons.
People really don't read anything in threads before posting do they?06/28/2015 04:24 AMPosted by OrcimondeNo clue what happened but I alt tabbed out and back in and things started working for some reason.
Alt-tabbing fixed it because you PRESSED ALT.
Which is EXACTLY what I have been saying and quoting over and over and over and over and over and over and over again in this thread.
Invalid Target? Press Alt. Fixed.
This happened to me today in dungeon. im now stuck with a 30 minute lockout from dungeons because of this bug. STILL UNFIXED!
