I think it’s more funny someone came up with this idea and then someone above them reviewed it and said. “Yep, good job, Jenkins.”
Kinda like the same way someone reviewed “The Great Push” and was like… “Yes, this. This is the title.”

I like esports, but this is dumb. And comes off as bad marketing considering the current state of the game

I guess I would have rather seen them do an event where all of us had the option to enter the event with a donation or entrance fee, rather than watch these same teams play yet again? and maybe a vote from the players on commentators? I haven’t been all that excited about the ones they have chosen on the other esports I’ve watched, snoozapalooza for commentary…
I think you are thinking of the “charity” transmog toys they added to the shop where they kept most of the money for themselves and never donated it
I feel like they are currently having these regular meetings where they try to come up with something new to engage at least part of the playerbase. But it has to be something different, something that couldn’t be interpreted as admitting that they made mistakes, or even errors in judgment.
So we get a new youtube only event. So we got a free giveaway of the game and a boost to players who haven’t purchased Shadowlands but have at least purchased a license in the past.

Too be fair, they scaled 6 old mega-dungeons & added a seasonal affix and the most you’ve interacted with this system is +7 keys on you hunter Xunfooki-Stormrage & Fated Normal raids.
Very weird concept complaining about content when you are not even interacting with this patch

An MMORPG is uniquely ill suited for esports, it’s like trying to shove a 6 inch square peg into a 1 inch round hole. The lack of intelligence in this endeavor is just mind boggling.

From the DPS and Healers aspect of the Solo Shuffle Tourney are we just not allowing tanks? Seems kinda messed up
