Did it ever dawn on you that perhaps this person has more than one toon? (I hear you can have up to 50… not that I know anything about that ). You won’t find much past some BFA for this toon because it was only my main while ele shaman was broken at the end of Legion and into BFA.
As for the variety show… Didn’t those go out in the 70’s?
Meanwhile Grimrail Depot has been overtuned all week and Blizzard is more concerned with this garbage vanity post than fixing their game to save what little playerbase is left.
It is almost like they have different teams with different jobs. The Devs handling game fixes are not the folks in Community, esports, PR, promotions, etc.
I want some things changed too, but harping on the wrong folks does not result in anything good.
While I agree, the fact that there are so many messes at the moment and rather than address any of them, they announce this. It feels like they are trying to ignore them and using this as a distraction so they can ignore them.
The Community and esports teams have likely been working on this for months. Concept/proposal, pitch, approvals, funding, designing the events, deciding platform and timing, lining up the talent, getting legal approvals/documents done.
I mean, they COULD delay their efforts because the game Devs nerfed an Alpha skill, or decided to put Slimecat in a Normal + raid.
I just wonder, if they delayed everything else other teams do, until the players are al happy with the game, would they ever do anything?
I saw this comment on the reddit thread about this and thought it would be important for some:
I really like the idea, but just a PSA: if you sign up for this, you’re giving Blizzard the right to publish your real name, and the city & state you live in. And they can use it in advertising or however they want.
In consideration of a Player being allowed the chance to enter the Contest, [Blizzard], its parent, subsidiaries, licensees and affiliates, shall have the perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide license and right to utilize a Player’s name, address (city and state), character, likeness, prize information, statements about the Contest, as well as the Player’s biography for any publicity, advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law, and releases the Released Parties (defined in Section 7 below) from any liability with respect thereto. Sponsor shall have the right to use, modify, reproduce, publish, perform, display, distribute, make derivative works of and otherwise commercially and noncommercially exploit a Player’s name, character, likeness, and biography in perpetuity and throughout the universe, in any manner or medium now existing or hereafter developed, without separate compensation to the Player or any other person or entity.
Social media team don’t do engineering. You definitely don’t want them doing engineering. I’m sure they are competent people with many skills. If they were software engineers, they probably wouldn’t be making VODs and Twitter posts. That pays less. As far as them directly responding to the hot topics of the week, that aint really Blizzard’s way. I agree they should do more of it, but they probably not going to.
