The intro quest to shadowlands, Through the Shattered Sky, has a potential issue. My group was not synced during this quest and my priest phased in and out of the room. I was unable to complete the “Hear Bolvar’s instruction” criteria of the quest so I hearthed and abandoned the quest. I am now unable to take the death gate in orgrimmar as it doesn’t appear back to icecrown to finish the quest.
I literally am having this exact same problem.
My friend had this exact same problem when we tried to Party Sync. He abandoned the quest to reset but could not pick it up again, making it impossible to enter Shadowlands. Quest giver NPC and Death Gate to the Maw portal were also not there. He was doing it on his main so this needs to be resolved urgently.
I have the same problem…
Find someone hasn’t started the quest, join the party then sync the quest will fix this issue.

Hi I had some issues at the start where I lost my “into the shattered sky” quest and now i cant see the death gate to go back and I cant see any quest to accept.
Try abandoning the quest and reaquiring.

I have no quest to abandon anymore and there is no quest to accept. I even tried to get someone to share it with me. I’m just stuck unable to see any of the npcs to accept a quest and I can’t see the deathgate either, only the 3 death knights casting it.

I have the same problem, only farther down the quest chain. Unable to see the NPC giving the quest. No quest to abandon. No quest available to get.

My kiddo has the same problem. I heard the dialog from Bolvar, but there is no follow up quest. The shards aren’t interactive - like they were on my account. Been troubleshooting with everything i can think of (syncing with new players, reloading, hearthing, returning, etc).
Can I join someone my quest is not working:(
I still have this issue. First quest after the lvl 50 boost, and its broken. tried the things in this thread, and worked with some guides in game. anyone find it fixed yet?
I also have this issue now, no npc in org to start quest and the portal is gone.

Having this same issue. Two friends started parties with me as well and I still can not move the shards. I opened a ticket and was told to Reload UI (which I did) and Abandon quest but there is no quest to Abandon. Has anyone found a fix yet? I am one week into this expansion and Blizz has not answered me. Feeling Robbed!
I too am having the same problem. I originally was hearing Bolvar’s instructions but was disconnected. tried abandoning, joining party’s, etc… Are they going to fix this?

Quest glitched for me also on my L50 demon hunter- sadly one of the first quests I’ve tried after upgrading to Heroic. Hopefully smoother sailing from here lol 
Update: turns out its a feasibly completed quest after all. There are some buggy elements as far as triggering/locating the shards (this may have affected me because of reduced graphic settings on a less than ideally equipped PC), but after some patience and searching around it worked…
Good thing since this is the jump off point to a crucial story/quest line!
Hi can you please help with how you got the quest to finished.
I just returned back to wow after cataclysm, boosted my char to 50 and I’m stuck on this quest (through the shattered sky) as Bolvar doesn’t give me an option to progress, I can’t interact with the shards and I have 0 quests in my quest log for some reason.
I can’t abandon the quest as well as there is no quest for shadowlands at all in my quest log.
Put through a ticket but would definitely love to fix this ASAP, i returned to play with a friend and I only got 10 days of holidays left I really want to play shadowlands
