Into The Storm - Storm Chaser

The bots man, ITS THE BOTS

You had to say something didntcha. DIDINTCHA?!!

I am the storm!

Honestly, I hope that as part of Season 4 the devs go back to having two storms up at a time. The Storm Chaser achievements were designed for when two elemental storms were basically always active, and I never understood why they changed that in 10.0.5.

More storms please. Iā€™d rather kill 1000 elementally infused morons than wait out this RNG.

Just print up a checklist of zones and elemental types that you need, keep an eye on WoWhead, and make sure you refresh the page every few hours to see where you need to get your 200 next.

I got all of this done in a matter of weeks, and I am so glad I waited till late Season 3 of Dragonflight to do it as itā€™s much easier to down the mobs than it was a year ago.

Almost like people probably should have been playing for the past year.

It definitely feels like that since Iā€™ve only seen two storms now not in The Waking Shores or The Azure Span (both happened to be Thaldraszus).

On the one hand, yes.

On the other hand, I have been ok! but Elemental Storms were garbage and also we moved on from them as content by the time the Forbidden Reach came out? I dunno. When they announced the meta achieve, I only had 5 of the 16 done, so since last reset Iā€™ve done another 7, down to 4 now.

iā€™m down to now needing fire in the plains and frost in thaldraszus. this is gonna be rough

One of the few storms outside Span and itā€™s bugged lol.

Only enemies native to Tyrhold are empowered.

Thatā€™s not a bug. Itā€™s always worked that way. In fact, it works that way in all of the zones.

Thatā€™s normal, not all the mobs are empowered.

Thatā€™s how all the storms work; ignore the Primalist enemies because they are not empowered by the storm, they just spawn because of it.

Thaldraszus storms are actually easy as you can sit on one side on one level of the rings and farm the hyperspawning enemies. It took me roughly twenty minutes to kill all two hundred enemies for the achievement.

Yeah imo the only crappy spot for storms is the waking shores elite area, the mobs all have high hp except birds and rocksā€¦ and the density is not that great

The birds have a trick though. The feathers donā€™t give progress but if you let them respawn, you can get two credit kills from one bird.

Got home today after work, and I finally caught a sandstorm in Thaldraszus that I was missing. It was almost over, however, and I finished at 181/200ā€¦ It would be really great if they could put the storms on a rotation or make them spawn more frequently. The current format is quite frustrating.

I was playing them, just not regular enough because they gave nothing. I got all my pets, I got the heirloom in DF pre-patch, and the lariat recipe has such a bad drop rate I would never want to put 10,000 hours into something just to end up walking out with nothing.

There is literally no reason to do them aside from the achievements outside of like the first like 20 minutes per storm type.

The mobs down below in Tyr on all the levels are empowered, the last Thal one that was up I got done in like 15 minutes in a group just going around all the lower levels out the back.

Hey guys, Iā€™m guessing we have a better chance of getting Blizzard to notice if we post about the storm rotation issues in the Bug Report forum.

Someone made a Bug Report earlier. Please add a comment, like, and bookmark to that thread. Thanks and good luck.

Itā€™s not a bug though, itā€™s just how many points there are for each spawn location, three in Span, 2 in Shore and 1 in each of the others, so a 1/7 chance to get the zone you want and because there are 3 in Span that means technically a 43% chance to see Span, then a 1/4 chance to get the right storm.

The second poster on this post done the maths better than I did, and probably correct, I think I gave too much leniency to seeing the right one.

Itā€™s just horrible.

If they gave an equal amount of spawn points in each zone you would have an equal chance to see each zone, which would be far better, which is why they just need to do what they have done with hunts, and rotate it, or make it spawn in multiple zones at once at least.

Apparently they were double spawning prior to 10.0.5 but it was changed to single spawn and nothing accounted for so the time stayed the same.
