Used intimidation on a mage today. Pet hit the target ~5 times, no stun. Intimidation buff stayed on the pet. Is this glitched, or working as intended? Mage had ice barrier up.
Pvp is trash. That sums it up.
I don’t think it stuns if the hit is absorbed.
This is correct. Whether or not that was intended or accurate to og TBC, I’m not sure of.
Yeah stuns don’t work if the damage is absorbed, tried to stun a mage with shield up and didn’t work.
Mace stun and deep thunder stun don’t seem to have any issue going through absorbs.
This makes me feel like this mechanic is super inconsistent and something is wrong.
Could mage shields be it?
Weird because there isn’t anything specific in the tooltip that really makes that clear:
Command your pet to intimidate the target on the next successful melee attack , causing a high amount of threat and stunning the target for 3 sec
Maybe it doesn’t count as successful if absorbed ¯_(ツ)_/¯
But also, dispel their shield bro with arcane shot
It was like this During TBC. I played a priest back then and intimidation did not stun untill the shield was depleted.
If the Mage has a shield you need to dispell for stun to go through, use your arcane shot you bloody noob!
There is nothing wrong, working as intended, intimidation don’t go through absorbs
This is absolutely not a universal mechanic and never has been.
yes I don’t think in modern wow it’s like this but I am pretty sure it was like this in classic TBC and Wotlk
The stuns not going through absorbs is unique to intimidation. It’s because it requires damage to be done for it to attempt to use the stun.
It was coded this way to prevent dodge, miss, exc from consuming the stun with no stun being used. This is the side effect of that.
Intimidation might have worked like this back then.
Stuns, in general, have always been able to be applied through shields. Literally always.
bug, report it.
