Internal mail database error

Like a studious little lad I hustled my way to the Darkmoon Faire at the start of the month to get my hands on some Northrend herb/skins/gems ahead of the launch as a way to get a sort of head start on everyone. But after I mailed them to a bank alt they all seem to be stuck in the mail with the “Internal mail database error” popping up when I try to get them. I followed steps to ensure it wasn’t an add-on and also repaired my install but no luck.
Do I just need to write the items off or has someone with the same problem found a solution?

same issue, those darkmoon faire curses! I cannot even delete it, when I hit return, it disappears but then comes right back after relogging.

As far as we understand it those should clear out on their own. It may clear as early as maintenance, but may need to expire on their own.

Our QA team is aware of the mail and looking into other options, but not sure if they can clear them quickly than that.

I too went to Darkmoon Faire, bought herbs, leather, health potions and the crystalline elements from rare vendor Lhara. I successfully mailed these to my other toons but found they had disappeared yesterday from their banks.
I submitted a ticket for their return only to get a generic form response:
A Game Master resolved your ticket, and left the following response:

links removed as Bliz only allows 2 from a “new” user but really allows none

Blizzard has made no response to return my items and apparently has no intention of returning them OR THE GOLD I SPENT.

Did you reopen the ticket? That does appear to be a automated response when queue times are running a bit longer than normal.

If your issue is the same as the op, you might have to wait for the system to send back the items.

I’m also getting a persistent mail database error related to items from Northrend.

I boosted a paladin and after leveling enchanting I DEd some of the Collective greens, which you could do at the time but apparently cannot do any longer. I have a Small Dream Shard, Lesser Cosmic Essence, and Greater Cosmic Essence stuck in my mailbox. When I try to remove them from the mail I receive the Internal mail database error.

I opened a ticket but it was marked Resolved by an automated system and I was directed to come here.

So if we are trying to transfer servers to join our guild for launch we are out of luck until the mail expires in a couple of weeks? o.O

Edit: This has been resolved for me. Just need to submit the second ticket after exhausting all other potential solutions and hang tight, there are people out there to help! they’re just very busy. good luck, and thanks!! though if you aren’t trying to transfer right now, may be easier to just wait a couple of days until it resolves itself

Yeah it seems the first ticket is just to make sure you tried to fix it yourself. This seems be an issue with the items themselves, even when they eventually get bounced back they may still not be retrievable. From the sound of it they were removed from peoples banks. My “GUESS” is they were mistakenly released on vendor, then removed, maybe flagged for deleting but the flagging didn’t catch stuff in the mail, but does cause an issue with the database when trying to put it in your inventory? an unintended side effect of a quick fix to an unanticipated issue?

I’m assuming I unwittingly walked into a rare situation where now I need to transfer my character to join my guild for wrath launch but I am denied service because I cannot clear my mailbox by any means >.<
