Interface folder movement

Good morning. Just got a new computer, getting ready for Shadowlands. My question is, can I copy/paste my interface folder(with all my addons) from the old computer’s wow to the new computer’s wow? Thank you.

You should be able to copy the whole World of Warcraft folder over, but if you just want to pull the Interface folder over you can.

Keep in mind that some settings are going to be kept in the WTF/Cache folders as well so you may need to make adjustments once you move over the Interface folder.

Thank you very much. I figured as much, but I wanted to verify before I go and do something possibly wonky. Much easier to make a few tweaks than to redownload all my addons one by one and completely recustomize them. Again. Thank you.

You can also do a clean install of WoW on your new hard drive.

Then launch it one time, set up your graphics settings and other stuff and exit the game. That will give you a nice, clean Config.wtf file.

After that, copy and replace the _retail_\WTF\Account and _retail_\WTF\SavedVariables folders and the whole _retail_\Interface folder from the old WoW install. There’s really no need to copy over the Cache folder because that will be filled up again with new data anyways.

Works every time for me. Good luck.
