Interesting... Vrykul Are Considered Alliance

I just popped that toy that turns you into a Vrykul for fun and…

It turned my Horde-exclusive staff transmog off.

Just like when I use toys that turn me into Alliance Races like Draenei.

And unlike toys that turn me into Horde Races like Blood Elf.

Last test:

Alliance character with Alliance-exclusive weapon mogs.

The mogs are maintained.

Conclusion: The game’s internal logic considers the Vrykul Race to be Alliance.

SCIENCE!!1!

I figured they would be. I also thought that they were going to be a allied race for this expansion.

I’m actually surprised that they aren’t.

Mechavrykul, the ultimate allied race

I would love to have an alliance warlock that looked like Havi:

Its the one human variation that quite a few alliance would actually want, but blizzard ignores requests. :sob:

Should’ve got Vrykul instead of Kul Tirans.

log into patch 9.1
make the new vrykul race
spend 30 minutes trying to decide on a class, finally pick warrior
spend about an hour making him, the new shadowlands customizations are really great
click Finish and log in
Screen fades to black
Wait a minute…
Screen starts to fade in with some soft music playing in the background, the sound of horse hooves on cobblestone and a wagon rolling along the road
No way
Text appears on the screen
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Todd Howard you’ve done it again

Well Kul Tirans are Vrykul-Human hybrids.

You always seem to find the lost interesting little things in WoW, Mortis. But that is very interesting to see. I would love to have a Vrykal! That plus the Banbaro armor in Monster Hunter World (if only WoW armor worked like that…) would be amazing to have as a character!

Whoa, we could be baby diapervikings?

They’ll make blue posts asking what we’d like to see in future Allied Races, gather all of the pertinent information therein, and give us something about 74.36% similar to what we asked for.

This is the way.

Oh yay, so the next alliance AR really is going to be more humans.

I’m gonna have to go full time horde now

vrykuls are just giant dwarves

That’s probably because they share some features with humans in past content. No idea how this spaghetti code works at this point.

Because having your buddies make a bunch of viking dorks and sit in Stormwind singing the Monty Python spam song would be most amusing.

Honestly I feel like if Vrykul became playable they’d add more to the Horde than Alliance.

They Viking Norse/viking asthetic is currently absent in the Horde and they’d add to the Horde well. Conversely Alliance has far more than enough of different versions of humans as it is, I feel like putting them on the Alliance would be selling them short yet again, they don’t need more humans.

If the next two Allied races were Horde vrykul and Alliance furbolgs, I’d be happy.

I would’ve liked furbolgs if they were like the WC3 ones. The WoW furbolgs are so weird and ugly looking. why on earth are their hunches so pronounced!?

if you read the lore humans came from northrend like 1k years ago because a female vyrkrul gave birth to a deformed baby and rather than sacrifice it for being “weak” the parents fled the continent and raised it to adulthood thus began the rise of man on other continents

Of course I know that, but at the same time it means nothing.

Forsaken are literally dead Humans, yet they are on the Horde.

Being related to Humans doesn’t automatically place you in the Alliance.
