I have a pc that my grandson plays wow using his own account. I want my granddaughter to play but using her own battlenet and wow accounts. They of course will not be playing at the same time. I want them each to use their own battlenet & wow installation. How do I set this up on the pc?
Unless you are need addons for each person, it really not necessary to have multiple installations. You just set the battle net launcher to log out after quitting the game, and each player has to login using their own battle net account.
Does each player get their own settings, ui setup, etc?
Not really. Just make sure you have enough HD space to hold 3 installations, wow sits at about 120gb, the tricky part will be managing the Launcher. You’ll come across with some conflicts as 3 launchers will eat up resources. Plus the the setup of shortcuts to the particular wow account and having your kids select the right one.
I very strongly recommend securing your computer in such a way that your children cannot install random softwares.
Sadly, I’ve witnessed over the years many “Why was my account closed for exploitation!!!”[1] threads quickly followed by “I’m sorry, I discovered my child did X”.
Sometimes children don’t fully consider the consequences of their actions.
[1] Also in some abundance have been “Why did Blizzard charge me an extra $100 this month”.
Thanks for the advice. My granddaughter is 22 and grandson is 17. Thank goodness they know better!
You don’t need multiple installs you just log out and then log her into Bnet.
Best/easiest way is likely for them to have their own local accounts on the PC.
So he logs into his account on the PC, which is setup with his wow account, she logs into her account on the PC, which is setup with her wow account.
Sorry for the bump, but it makes me smile to see grandparents playing WoW with their grandchildren.
