Today, I finished off my last rep required for the achievement (Everlook). I had previously gotten Honored with Bloodsail and then did Cloth Turn-ins; as you’re allowed to based on previous posts. I then did every Goblin quest, farmed pirates for 20~ hours, and ended up spam running DM:N.
I didn’t get the Achievement, or the title. I have spent literal days of my life farming this title, based off of the guidance from not only Blue Posts, but other peoples personal experience gaining the title.
Is this a known bug? I can’t find much on it on these Forums.
There are multiple Posts that say you don’t need both reps at the same time.
Here’s a Blizzard QA Rep Dresorull: “My understanding of this is that it was never required that you have these criteria met all at the same time. Once you reach the required reputation level with one of the factions, the criteria should be credited.” -Dresorull on 04/18/2009 @ 02:39:51 PM PDT
"Well you shouldn’t lose the criteria if you gained the reputation to obtain it. " -Dresorull on 04/18/2009 02:56:35 PM PDT
Might be an unintended bug with the way they relaunched wrath. We’re on the 3.3 balancing patch but technically we’re in some patch which is before 3.1 which launches ulduar. Which is why we dont even have the vendors in dalaran for the other badges yet. The change to insane title which allowed you to not need both at the same time was added in patch 3.1 according to the wowhead article you linked.
My thought process behind all this is that since we’re technically not in 3.1 the game is treating it as you still need both. Which is silly since we’re on the balancing patch of 3.3. I’d submit a ticket to at least try to be awarded the title. I am very glad I decided to just do DM N runs instead of cloth turn ins (since i wanted to just farm my librams) now as i’m pretty close to my insane title myself.
Yeah, this makes me nervous as its so common to see multiple different responses from gm’s. Current wait time is 50 days for a ticket response, so we’ll be done with Ulduar prog by the time I get a response and I’m sure I’ll get an automated message at like 4 in the morning telling me to check wowhead for questions on achievements. I’m just going to keep repealing it if it gets cancelled until I get someone who knows how the game operates.
Might be a silver lining though, if for some reason this bug is due to what I mentioned above if you just dont touch anything till ulduar is released you’ll prolly be awarded the title.
Apparently you have as much attention and knowledge pursuing achievements as you do with writing wowhead guides.
Already spotted the error, good luck doing your pirate rep and then raising your goblin rep again.
PS: you can get reputation with the cartel without lowering your reputation with the pirates. That is how you’ll get and if you don’t know how to do this by now, I guess it is time to re-learn this 15 years old game.
I have it since mid TBC and got it day one of prepatch but I had bloodsail on honored+ while everything else on exalted.
I don’t know how it works with steamwheedle and bloodsail reps if you need to be exalted first and then go honored or the other way around, but in all honesty I dont understand people not just going for all 5 on the green bar as it literally doesnt take long (maybe 2 weeks of diremaul key turn ins) to get them all at once.
(basicly saying just get bloodsail to honored and then do dm or whatever methods there are for steamwheedle exalted) cause lets be honest, that takes less time than waiting for an useless response by blzz.
Clearly since you don’t have it, it means they were.
I have it, I had them all at the same time. There’s a entire discord for it. I don’t think anyone on it thought it wasn’t required to have it at the same time.
Go redo bloodsail and farm ratchet pirates till revered with all goblins. Then do knot thimblejack to exalted
you have to have bloodsail at honored and all the other at exalted at the same time, i did it on my main before pre patch with the reps where they needed to be at the same time and i got it. you can’t get the achievement unless the reps are where it says they need to be all at the same time… i even grinded this title out on my second account as well after wotlk launch just to see if you could cheese it and u cant.
Well here is the problem, clearly most people that are in this bubble got here because of misinformation…we did 1400 junkboxes, DMF rep, and shen’dralar rep…so it’s not like we’re just trying to cut corners. Most like me likely trusted WoWhead out the gate:
The change log has this updated on 2020. So I thought ok, good to go I’ll follow this guide. There are hardly ANY reasons not to trust most updated guides for WoWHead.
The big problem here is trying to separate the difference between “Classic” and “Retail” and where we fall in the patch. People keep going the safe route but when the first thing you read in a well formated and updated WOWHead guide is you don’t need both at the same time, it can be a bit triggering if you’re one of those individuals that didn’t care if you lost the Bloodsail rep.
