and I disagree. It is like saying driving to work is working. Once we have done the zone content (quests and exploration that make use of the world design) they are merely scenery for us to get to max level content.

But what she is saying is exactly why they did what they did, because we were skipping this content. So instead of designing better environments that utilize flight, they just locked it instead.
Except they don’t which is why we will have flying in this xpac, just like the last one and every one before. There is just an arbitrary wait on how long they apparently care.
This is the part that is really hard for me to understand. The paying player base does NOT need to satisfy the wants of the paid devs. Maybe I am too old school, but seeing something I built be successful was what I took pride in. I would imagine having a game where subs are increasing and the player base is talking about how much they love the game I worked on would be better than having a frustrated, dwindling player base who is complaining every day about how they dislike where my game is going.
FYI - I love the artwork in this game more than just about anything else. It doesnt mean I want the gameplay to suffer because I want to look at it.
I agree. The problem is that they are requiring their goals and demands to be met since they think it’s in the best interest of the game. No one is going to change that. So a solution needs to be met that both parties can agree on.
They could let us fly at the start of every expansion and have a fatigue bar on flying mounts. The more content you do the more items you get to increase your flying mount’s endurance, but ultimately you still can’t fly indefinitely. And if you exhaust your flying mount you get dismounted. If you’re high up when this happens well…splat.
This is because bfa is current. Grinding an alt to 110 from low level can be tedious. Hence the character boost. Though it doesn’t let you skip the content of the current expansion, which is their point.
Sorry but you have no idea what content means. The quests … Battles… Systems in place is content. The rest is foliage that creates atmosphere to spruce it up so your not running in space filled with geometric forms and in absolute nothingness. I have nothing against flying. I adore the landscapes and terrains but you should reassess what content is before making noise.
Can’t wait for 8.2 when the new updated grass gets put in. That’s awesome content
/facepalm /s
Because that’s why they do it. When millions go and get stumped at a terrain and can’t get somewhere its all added to there metric. Dingus think before you write. It doesn’t only apply to pathfinder. Its logged in played .
People asked … Continue to ask and we all know the answer so again. Moot point since this thing has been debated … Asked… Brainstormed and Blizz likes to poop on it. Don’t know what to tell you.
That’s only true if you believe the skipping content reason really is their reason for keeping players grounded so long. At this point, I don’t have enough trust in The Powers That Be to believe anything they say.
I’m cynical and jaded enough that I think the reason they keep us grounded so long is the same reason most companies make the decisions that they do - it’s cheaper. It’s cheaper to design a smaller world that feels bigger because the only means of travel available is slower. A small world means fewer resources need to be devoted to filling that world. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that flying is made available only when a new no-fly zone is released.
Blizzard doesn’t want us flying at all and it has nothing to do with skipping content and everything to do with them being able to save money. If they have to dedicate more time, manpower and resources - money, in other words - to implement flying, that’s all the more reason why they won’t do it.
I can agree that this is def part of the problem. A part of me wants to believe that, that aspect is being controlled by Activision. I really don’y want to believe that the Blizz we all fell in love with has fallen so far on their own.
