I get the outrage, but this has happen many time with many different companies and the outcome is always the same…

Big fine
We changed
Life goes on.

You like wow play wow…

Most people have vested $2000+ in the game over the years based on 10 years…

Na when you talk about corporate greed read pimp from iceberg slim…

Oh. I thought you actually had some examples.

I didn’t realize you wanted examples. Here is a study.

False Confessions (cornell.edu)

I’m sorry, I don’t think I was clear. I read your post as alleging that the people speaking to DFEH about the toxic workplace and sexual harassment at Blizzard might be lying (because spreading false allegations of sexual harassment is a great career move, I guess?), and further, that this kind of thing was widespread. I wanted evidence for this, that there is a plague of people lying about their workplace situations.

You have provided me with evidence of people, in general, lying. Okay?

No, I was talking about the OPs claim that people are “apologizing” therefore all the allegations are 100% true.

I am not saying the DFEH is lying or the allegations are untrue. My opinion on the matter is they are likely to be true, but I am not making a concrete judgement until it goes to court.

Oh, you’re saying Chris Metzen + others who are/were in positions of power at Blizzard might be lying. That makes sense.

You are absolutely hilarious. I love the false confessions argument, talk about blind love… Addictions are a terrible thing to deal with, I used to have a drinking problem bad. Haven’t touched it in years. I hope you find help.

I guess all 1000 of these people coming forward at blizzard and taking a stand are liars.

Dont have examples of people lying and making stuff up?

Rolling Stone’s Magazine “A Rape on Campus” article. It was a complete fabrication.

Mattress girl carrying around a mattress she said she was raped on. That was a complete fabrication as well.

A group of high school girls who said a classmate raped them. It was all a lie and they admitted to it in a video saying they just didnt like him and “I would do anything to get him expelled”.

There are plenty of examples and those were 3 examples of high profile accusations.

People just going around saying #believewomen has created an atmosphere that they can get away with lying about people that they dont like because you guys will just believe them and there is no punishment. Thats why proof is so important.

There is also a thing called gaslighting. It makes people question themselves and they can say to themselves “they keep saying im a sexual offender so I must be”. Doesnt actually mean they are, again another reason why proof is so important.

Just because these allegations COULD be true, it doesnt mean they are true. Again, another reason why proof is important.

Examples of people in a similar case as Blizzard- so lying to investigators about sexual harassment and toxicity at their workplaces.

Saying, “it happened before, therefore it’s happening now” is a logical fallacy. It could be happening now, that’s why it’s important to look at the evidence to reach a conclusion. And the evidence we have right now indicates that this is all legitimate.

And if not, then I’m wrong. I’ve been wrong before. No biggie.

That wasn’t a complete fabrication like the Pennsylvania case you brought up. Colombia found Nungesser not responsible because 1) it started off as consensual and 2) Sulkowicz was into rough stuff, meaning it became a he said, she said of when the rough sex became non-consensual.

Both Colombia and the Rolling Stone libel case predate the MeToo movement and the believeallwomen hashtag.

have you tried a banana chocolate mint shake?

It’s not all bout allegations . It is also about state investigators going to Blizz and combing through documents .

How about lying to investigators about sexual harassment at college campuses? Its the same thing.

I also never said it is happening now which is a complete lie coming from you. I said it could be happening. Seriously you guys really need to learn some english and reading comprehension.

You also only have one side of the story and some people doing some PR work which never helps. IT NEVER HELPS.

Not a complete fabrication is still a fabrication. The Rolling Stone’s Magazine had to pay out 1.65 mi mi mi million dollars because it was false. She was claiming rape, she wasnt, end of story.

It doesnt matter if they pre-date them if they contribute to the cause. Rolling Stone’s #believedwomen whether you want to say the hashtag was created or not. They got one side of the story, published it as true, no journalistic integrity so it was a #believewomen case. So I dont know what kind of point you are trying to make. It epitomizes the #believewomen movement.

If I had a dime for every time I heard someone, on all sides of debates, say this phrase over the last few days on the forums, I’d be able to buy coffee for a week :coffee:

So? What about it? Dont think government entities cant do something that benefits their clients? Just rummaging around some documents doesnt mean that they found anything. Again look at the Rittenhouse case where the state is pursuing something that doesnt exist. Trying to come up with anything they can because its following an agenda.

Have you seen the front page of the DFEH? Its all women, so from that I can do what you guys are doing with no other evidence and make something up. Just based on that picture they are biased towards women and will fight for them no matter what. Thats not really fair is it? I have no evidence of it aside from what I want to see the picture to mean. Just like you guys just have some allegations and going through the books.

Well when people dont understand the meaning of certain words and twist phrases around to mean something else because they are changing “could” for another word which changes the meaning, they either dont have any reading comprehension, or they are just flat out liars. So which term should I use, i want you to make the most money for that overpriced burnt Starbucks coffee.

Given the sexual innuendo that has always been part of the game, I’m surprised that anyone is surprised at the behavior alleged in the lawsuit. I always expected the game was very much an extroversion of the suppressed libidos of the developers, including the glorification of warfare, but decidedly the objectification of women.

A player boycott certainly sends a message, which to me sounds like “I was oblivious to the obvious truth, and now that I’m aware that I looked past it, I intend to punish all the employees at Blizzard, men and women, so I can feel proud of myself, and deny complicity in my suspending of disbelief!”

No, I think I’ll keep playing. Why should I not? Because you say I should not?

So many people do this on this forums. I literally just saw it in the last thread on I was. You try to tell somebody what they are doing is wrong while insulting them. It makes you no better.

And that is honestly sad to me. Seems pretty innocent and funny. A lot better than the crap that goes on now a days.
