I gotta try right? I can use all the gold I can get. I need to buy carries for gear on a lot of toons.
Yes. Several hours ago, this thread became about ice cream.
That’s P2W…
Why do we, the public, need to wait for the court process to wait out? We have plenty of circumstantial evidence:
-
The DFEH spent two years investigating, meaning they either 1) kept finding evidence to keep the case going or 2) was so spread out over the two years that it’s really insignificant
-
The California AG’s office signed off on this lawsuit, something it’s more likely than not they wouldn’t do if they didn’t think they would win (or at least get a favorable settlement)
-
If the DFEH allegations are meritless, that opens them up to legal trouble, particularly with Alex Afrasiabi, whom the complaint mentions by name. Not to mention a public scandal. This implies the allegations are not meritless.
-
The fact Alex Afrasiabi was quietly pushed out during the investigation
-
The statements by numerous Blizzard employees corroborating the claims of a toxic work place
-
800 Blizzard employees signing a petition expressing dissatisfaction with the statements put out by Blizzard’s legal counsel and Fran Townsend
-
The apologetic internal statement from J. Allen Brack and and public statement from Chris Metzen
Blizzard has the right to court proceedings that does not view the case with the presumption of their guilt. They do not have the right for me, public rando, to presume their total innocence in the face of all this circumstantial evidence.
It’s like watching a dead house being beaten for days at this point.
You make way to much sense for these forums. CANT COMPUTE
I mean, if you want to have an opinion on the matter go ahead, but that doesn’t mean everyone isn’t entitled to their day in court. That doesn’t go away just because you think they are guilty. I mean look at it this way, if you were accused of something, wouldn’t you want the chance to defend yourself? At this point all we have is 1 side of the story. Whether you think they are guilty or not, Blizzard should be afforded the chance to tell their side of it.
I mean, you’re entitled to your opinion, and I never said you can’t have an opinion. All I’m saying is keep an open mind and let the courts handle it as it is their job to handle this.
No one is saying Blizzard isn’t entitled to their day in court.
They’ve already started telling their side for apologizing for their actions. Why do we need to wait for court to believe this happened? If someone apologized for stealing from me I’d believe they probably stole from me.
There are a lot of people who have said if you don’t unsub you support everything blizzard has been accused of. There a people who have called for wow to end and/or npcs just to be removed based on the allegations.
Because it’s the courts job to determine guilt and hand out punishments. It’s not an uncommon thing for people to lie, especially when they’re not under oath and/or are trying to score PR points. So let’s not pretend apologies on twitter mean anything.
ooh and typing like this makes you so edgy and cool
It’s going to be settled. Big fine and life goes on…
Innocent until proven is for the courts not for my opinions.
And I’d have much more doubt in my mind if this was one or two people tweeting about it rather than a two year investigation from a state government.
These people should be thrown into the sea.
What does this case have to do with people going to prison , this is a lawsuit not a criminal case . Only thing this case is going to decide is if and how much BLizz will have to cough up financially .
If there are pending criminal charges , that will in the hands of a different court.
Someone thinking there is enough evidence to assume Blizzard’s guilt and act accordingly is not the same thing as saying Blizzard doesn’t have a right to a fair trial with the assumption of innocence.
My OP was laying the case for why someone might presume Blizzard’s guilt. You responded to it as if I were saying they didn’t have a right to a fair trial. These are not the same thing.
What do you base this on?
Exactly, they only thing that this case will have on future criminal charges is creditably to allow them to happen…
Nah vanilla might be too white for him . He might feel that it racially violates his taste buds
THing is a lot of people don’t realize is one can be found not guilty in a criminal case but still be considered accountable in a civil lawsuit because of the differences in the burden of proof.
Human nature and corporate greed. Or do you really think it’s not common for people to lie and or do anything they think will make them look better in the eyes of the public? Because if so, I have a House quote for you.
