Inexpensive Gaming Computer

Hello Fam, thinking about getting my gf a computer to play wow with me. All it needs to do is play wow decently, all she has now is a laptop for school. Can anyone recommend and inexpensive desktop that will get the job done? Thanks.

How inexpensive? Newegg has some great ones by Skytech.

I don’t want to sound cheap, but it is just for her to play wow on. So if I could keep it under a grand I’d be happy. I’ll look in to Skytech though.

I wouldn’t go any cheaper than this. Anything less is going to be a potato.

Edit: Oh, if your budget is a grand hold up. There’s some much better options in the $800 range.

This is a good one and it has fun LEDs!

I was looking at that one, it came up and I liked the specs, looks like it could play wow decently.

It can. I have a similar one. :slightly_smiling_face: It’s been pretty darn fantastic, imo. Quiet, works well, good power supply, lots of good ventilation.

And look what it can do! giggles

You can get an affordable HP Omen at Best Buy that will play games just fine.

I HIGHLY recommend a Solid State Drive. Got one recently, I can load Legion Dalaran within a second.

Keep in mind that budget computers don’t come with top of the line hardware. Not by a long shot.

Do not waste money buying a pc or whatnot at best buy. You’re gonna pay 25%+ extra margin at minimum.

Yeah, that’s why I love the Skytech. Nice SSD and the system was a good price for the components. :slightly_smiling_face:

If you’re really cheap, don’t buy prebuilt pc, just buy its part separately, only put most of your budget on the processor, gfx card, and SSD.

You can even buy used parts (most people sold their parts cheap when they want to upgrade).

I got my i7 for about $180 from NewEgg, and just had to upgrade a few things. Total cost was $500. I already had the monitor, keyboard and mouse.

If your budget is “under a grand”, then your idea of inexpensive is a bit different than most.

$1k isn’t “super gaming beast” territory or anything, but it’s pretty solidly “mid-range gaming build”, even if you’re buying from CyberPower or something and not building it yourself.

if you build yourself this is the way to go for budget right now
-ryzen 5 1600 AF (its a ryzen 5 2600 for $85 an absolute steal for the price)
-b450 am4 mobo $99
-16gig ddr4 ram $77
-600w power supply $65
-500gig ssd $66
-case $60
-used rx 580 $50-$100
$502 - $552 total for parts and it should leave you room for monitor and accessories

as for prebuilts i find somewhere like cyberpowerpc to be pretty fair

I reccomend what Shadowshah is saying. i bought my stuff new and went with AMD Ryzen 5 2600, everything else is roughly the same.

build it yourself and stay away from amd products

total = 427$ add to it another 50 or 70$ for unaccounted stuff

so you need to budget yourself at 500$ if you wanna built it yourself

or you could just buy a used gaming pc for 250$

idk man, I use both products. Nvidia for my laptop and AMD for my Desktop. This 580 has been solid since the day I bought it. What would be your vice against them?

Like a few people here had suggested, build it yourself. It’s much much cheaper and there’s a lot of videos on YouTube that you can refer to.
