Incubus in Classic Era: Why Not Doe in MoP?

To whom it may concern,

I’m a longtime WoW player and Druid main, just asking if we could get Doe Form as a cosmetic Travel Form option in MoP Classic.

Stag only kinda sucks. Not everyone wants to be stuck in a big male deer form, especially when Warlocks got Incubus as a more inclusive option. This is the same idea.

Not everyone playing a Druid identifies with a masculine form, and we should have the option to choose something that fits better for us. Doe Form was added later in Legion, but it would mean a lot to see that brought into MoP Classic.

Maybe as a glyph, or a toggle, or something simple. Just let us choose how we show up in the game.

Thanks for reading. Representation matters, even when it’s just a shapeshift form.

I agree, delete incubus from the game.

True. I only play Night Elf because the cat is female. The other races cats seem tusky, beardy, and burly.

But I brought up the Stag party problem months ago in World chat, and someone said there was a glyph to go back to the travel cat. There is not? The doe would be incredible though!

-1, game shouldn’t have the Incubus either.

There was a female druid in one of the quests (I think legion, but it’s been a long time) that turned into the male stag form, which always left me with the notion that the druid could change into whatever, without limitations to sex.

Despite saying this I have no problem with more customization and would welcome it, even into classic. I think we burned the “no changes” awhile ago after all.

Blizzard doesn’t read these forums, and the community can’t be trusted to handle a request like this (as certain replies here show).

Send them your request on twitter or as a support ticket or something.

lmao “woke” is a meaningless word at this point but Blizzard already made many changes to Classic like adding Incubus, adding male concubines and pleasure slaves to Karazhan and Black Temple, changing paintings of voluptuous women to bowls of fruit, body type instead of gender in character creation, scrubbing references to the original devs who were doing nasty things in the office, Finkle and Einhorn, and more.

The word has lost all meaning, and depending on the person could be being used drastically differently.

I will say that as far as the issues go some of them were more ridiculous than others. Aka the painting change just seemed to be something to divert attention away from those accusations going on at the office. And really had no value besides as a way to falsely paint the company as standing up for women (which I would argue was actually the opposite).

I used to be more against the idea of (woke), as I have always favored freedom of expression and at times it was used as a censor(aka you can’t show this it objectifies people), but people also label things as woke to censor them. Nowadays I think it’s better to just look at the complaint head on and ignore the labels entirely.

btw sorry to get political, it’s an interesting topic to me, but not one that is easy to discuss especially around gaming, and people having strong emotions towards it.

It’s interesting that the Blizzard scandal that resulted in sanitization of achievements like “My Sack Is Gigantique” or abilities like “Every Man For Himself” (didn’t even realize this one changed until I was writing a macro)… Turned out to not really be based in much actual wrongdoing.

California threw out the discrimination complaint. There was never a request for trial for the alleged sexual harassment or sexual assault. All of the changes in-game are not motivated by moral convictions - i.e. people at high levels of decisionmaking thinking it’s wrong to use words like male and female - but because of liability. Your online hobby space was ideologically sanitized so that the small indie developer has a more stable foundation if they go to court again.

Like most bizarre changes to World of Warcraft, I would bet a significant amount of money that there is an internal document, advised on by Activision’s lawyers, saying things like “any implied sexual content must equally feature male and female characters”.

In this context it refers to changing something purely because a vocal minority are offended
