Increasing Anima Rewards from Dungeons and Raid Bosses

uh…no.

I am a renown something, 30 maybe, and almost every day there is a WQ epic loot item waiting for me to earn. Yesterday I received at least 3. A staff, a trinket, and gloves. The day before was a chest piece and some boots. IIRC they were in the 182-197 range.

So unless you are not doing your renown quests OR have not yet caught up, I don’t see why or how anima is how you are getting loot. If anything it is a massive waste of anima IMO using it to purchase upgrades since if you are patient, the epics will fall into your lap.

Not kidding.

Uh… yes, they did?

In MoP, every single tier they gave you new crafted blue PvP stuff which was easily enough to let you start Heroics (except for the very first tier) and/or the ToT/Timeless Isle content. It wasn’t ideal, but it was enough that you could start the content and then start replacing items as you went.

In Cata, I remember there being some kind of crafted gear there too, and also reputation rewards.

In Wrath, I forget what they did in Wrath. I think it might have been PvP craftables, I don’t recall. Also, reputation rewards there too.

Heck, in the timeless isle, the chests that were always out, you usually got a fresh suit of, I think it was 496 at the time which was comparable to the .0 tier raid gear. IIRC, ToT was 522 and I forget what SoO was, pretty sure LFR ToT was 483 and… was it 492? for LFR siege? I forget. And then they had the rare timeless token drops that let you make 535s.

You’d be 6 months behind from a gear perspective. Not much different than now. Or are we pretending that gear score and armory and the complaints about them gating people didn’t exist?

I don’t care about what people say about my gear if all I’m doing is LFD/LFR, lol.

As long as the tool says I’m ok to go in, I go in.

What I care about, is there not being any decent ways of gearing a character up to skip straight to the fun stuff after having done the first character. Like in MoP, I spent the time leveling a few alts, now I can make gear to quick catch the rest of my alts up so they can be fun to play too and not have to go through long boring slog grinds.

M0’s, yolo bgs and covenants provide that. They lead into LFR, ranked play and M+ 2-4 for 200ish ilvl.

Again, if you aren’t doing the campaign, pvp, dungeons or raids, what is the fun stuff you are trying to skip to?

IMO… people pushing m10+ or mythic raiding. Don’t care about anima.

Sure we do. We have stuff to unlock the same as any other player.

awesome so now i get even more useless items for doing pve. i dont want anima period. it gives no benefit to pve at all. no dps increase, no hps increase… gold is literally more valued than anima. trash grey items are more valued than anima. at least that gave gold which could be used to buy potions or raid mats. this is literally making it so i have no reason to do raid or pve of any kind. not saying that artifact power was the way to go… but at least it gave some pve benefit FOR DOING A PVE EVENT!!!

also as someone who has killed a raid boss now 10 times (sire) and never seen a single piece of my BIS gear from him this whole loot system sucks! First you take away the fun part of torghast for specific classes. now you give us even more of what we dont want… its like you dont even know your own game. more of an incentive to go to “ashes of creation” or leaving the game all together like so many of the top guilds are talking about doing.

1). I hate PvP.
2). M0 requires manual matchmaking, so no thanks.

I would do heroics if they gave me actual rewards, other than 35 anima, and that’s what my point has been this whole thread that you yet again missed.

Might even be tempted to do LFR if it offered any decent gear, but no, they stripped that down too.

That isn’t exactly what I call catchup gear but what makes you think that won’t happen this expansion for crafted gear - they did that in BfA and in Legion as well.

Except such gear required you to do oodles of dungeon runs to actually make, and/or lengthy grinds in BfA and I don’t recall them doing that with Legion crafted gear?

I know they had some stuff on Argus, but IIRC, the crafting materials and the recipes were ridiculous to obtain, but then I came kinda late because I quit during WoD .0 and came back just as Argus was being released.

MoP’s catchup crafted BoEs didn’t require any kind of grindy BoP mats. Souls of Harmony existed but they weren’t used for the catchup gear. BfA had the expulsom, tidal cores, hydrocores, etc that you had to grind dungeons for and/or rarely get stuff out of the shredder.

I think I remember shredding like 10+ things I made and getting exactly 1 expulsom, lol. yet the recipes take like 2-4 of them for 1 piece of gear? ya, how about no?

No. There was crafted gear in BfA that didn’t require doing any dungeons whatsoever.

MoP only let you equip 3 pieces of epic gear and the patterns were obtained from raids.

There were only a couple of pieces of epic gear that you could make in BfA that required dungeons.

And so what, you think you shouldn’t have to do anything to make gear? In MoP you had mats you could only make one piece a day.

Uh?

I’m just asking for catchup stuff for alts, and in MoP, lol, you could make a full suit of blue BoE any ole time you wanted.

You’re talking about the raid-quality legs and belt that you had to do daily cooldowns to get, that’s not what I’m talking about. And you didn’t get the patterns from raids, you learned them from the trainer, but each piece took like 12-16 days of crafting 1 per day IIRC.

No, I mean the blue pvp set that was easily good enough to let you get heroic-ready and/or be able to smoothly fight through stuff in the open world, letting you skip that initial max level grind of trying to get rep gear.

Oh, and for that matter, at least in MoP they let you get 2x rep once you got one person done.

And you had the same stuff in BfA. You could make a full set of blues in BfA any time you wanted to as well. It started out as 300 gear, then 340, then 370 and ilvl 400 gear I believe (not 100% on the 340, maybe it was only the other 3).

For some odd reason, I remember all of that stuff taking Expulsom or did they eventually change that?

I will admit that I kinda fell off from playing WoW right after unlocking flying because I was burnt out on the Nazjatar/Mechagon grinds. Got Pathfinder pt.2 and went “blaaaaaaah” and stopped playing until a few weeks before Shadowlands.

I sold over 25 million of that blue gear during BfA. Yes it required expulsom but you could make expulsom. There was no can’t make it when you want business.

From a lore prospective should the bosses of Castle Nathria not drop more Anima, like…significantly more? If they have been hording all of the shadowlands Anima it would make more sense. I would like something reflecting the difficulty of the content you’re doing for example:

Shriekwing: (LFR 100) (Normal 150) (Heroic 200) (Mythic 250) Total: 700 Anima.

Hunsman Altimor: (LFR 100) (Normal 150) (Heroic 200) (Mythic 250) Total: 700 Anima.

Sun King’s Salvation: (LFR 100) (Normal 150) (Heroic 200) (Mythic 250) Total: 700 Anima.

Artificer Xy’mox: (LFR 100) (Normal 150) (Heroic 200) (Mythic 250) Total: 700 Anima.

Hungering Destoryer: (LFR 100) (Normal 150) (Heroic 200) (Mythic 250) Total: 700 Anima.

Lady Inerva Darkvein: (LFR 100) (Normal 150) (Heroic 200) (Mythic 250) Total: 700 Anima.

The Council of Blood: (LFR 150) (Normal 200) (Heroic 250) (Mythic 300) Total: 900 Anima.

Sludgefist: (LFR 150) (Normal 200) (Heroic 250) (Mythic 300) Total: 900 Anima.

Stone Generals: (LFR 150) (Normal 200) (Heroic 250) (Mythic 300) Total: 900 Anima.

Sire Denathrius: (LFR 200) (Normal 300) (Heroic 400) (Mythic 500) Total: 1’400 Anima.

So hypothetically if you were to complete ALL wings on ALL difficulties.
LFR: 1’250
Normal : 1’800
Heroic : 2’350
Mythic : 2’900
You could net yourself a grand total of 8’300 Anima.

This looks like a lot of Anima at first (and it should be for raiding is the “pillar or wow right”?) however realistically I would wager that there would be a very, very small number of the player base that would actually complete or even be capable of completing all of these wings on all difficulties it would be quite the undertaking.

I personally feel that there simply isn’t enough Anima at the moment.
And when you think about it, you’re not getting any real end game content from Anima, you’re getting, Covenant upgrades, Transmog, Mounts, Pets…nothing that is used for Anima is going to give you an actual unfair advantage in M+, Raids or PvP.

Nobody cares. Sorry.

I didn’t resub to get blue kool-aid from bosses, dungeons, and quests…hic!
