I am playing a game where gear is the primary draw. Not sure what part of my statement that I want my toon to have the opportunity to be fully geared is controversial. The game has challenges and I am rewarded with gear for defeating those challenges. Pretending this isn’t the overall focus for participation in raids is silly.
And again, I am neither requesting nor hating on this idea. I simply think it is inevitable based on my previous experience with classic.
I wouldn’t mind 2x loot but I think it would be interesting how 1x loot on 12 mo cycle would shape roster selection since you have less time to distribute less loot. Might not be able to zug 20 warriors anymore if you don’t have enough items to pass around. Just food for thought
Nothing prevents you from gearing your char to the max. All they said was that they release the phases early. Nobody hinders you to get your char geared.
But Classic 1.0 was not 24 months long. Naxx came out around 16 month mark. Everyone was basically done with Classic by 18 months. And that was with slow leveling.
Reading is hard. I don’t care whether they boost it or not. I think people who think they aren’t going to boost it are being intentionally obtuse. You can rail against the likelihood of this change saying it is unnecessary all you want. That doesn’t change the fact that the likelihood is high. The fact that so many of you are on here attacking the idea so hard tells me you also see it this way whether you admit it or not.
Now you’ve done it. The no changes people will be up in arms about everything from the weeds won’t look the same to the economic viability of sustaining a 2x weekly raid schedule being untenable. Don’t say you weren’t warned lol.
Reading is apparently hard, cause so many people demand increased loot because of a 12 months phases release. The servers won’t shut down on the 12th month mark. You can still gear your toon, its just unlikely you gonna get full tier gear in 2 months. And so what? You can still gear your toon.
What you and all the other Kids here want is a method in which your char is most likely ready by the time the next phase drops… well they won’t and they shouldn’t. Their whole message is that they want to increase the difficulty this time around by removing world buffs, faster timelines and more HP for bosses etc.
Giving you more gear per raid ID is exactly against their intentions. As said, reading is really hard.
“Classic”. The original game was 26 months long. Rounding out between the 22 months and the 26 months, is a round 24 months. Therefore, 12 months (which is why they picked 12 months instead of 9).
You can nitpick all you like, but when you got bored is not how long the game lasted. You probably got bored well before Naxx came out, so they aren’t going to work off your schedule.
While that’s a bit of potaytoe potahtoe, doubling the amount of input players must have into the 12 month cadence would actually be detrimental.
“We raid 2 nights a week.”
“There’s two lockouts every week now”
“We’re not going to be raiding 4 nights a week. What are we, sweating in our mom’s basement?”
Not to be flippant, but “Says who?”. That’s one of the big questions of the Seasons of Mastery that’s yet to be answered. Will, like private servers, all the toons be wiped, or will they languish untouched forever on dead servers.
Personally, I think the solution is for Blizzard to set up ‘retirement servers’ where they move all the characters when they bring out a new season, merging all the characters from multiple servers, into one mega server. That way the people who want to continue (which will be a very small subsection) will be able to find others to play with, while the vast majority start new characters in the next Season.
I’m interested to know how many servers you expect Blizzard to maintain after their Season has completed?
Well if they do we might as well all go back to psevers, which are far more authentic and the biggest argument against em is that they are “illegal” (hahah) and have no security.
Look at classic era. Look at your security. The only thing Lizzard has going for it is that we all expect the servers to stay around. Nobody plays this for the quality of the product.
Have you played on a private server? Many have alternate levelling speeds, 12 month cycles, and all the rest, and are often riddled with bugs and issues. Some even have cash shops and pay to win features.
Then go. Quit whining, quit demanding things no-one really wants, and just end your subscription. Sometimes I think people prefer to complain than actually see improvements. Do the things that make you happy, instead of whipping yourself with things you clearly hate.
I have, have you? Im not saying there aren’t fun pservers out there. instant 60s etc. But the ones that try to offer an authentic experience, do a far better job than Lizzard does. Wether its progressive itemization, original timelines, real client, lack of layering etc.
Im just saying, if they do shut down the 12 months servers after the cylce, there is literally no reason to stick around. They offer an inferior product for anyone who is craving real vanilla and not just some hybrid vanilla/classic/retail mix mash up.
How is it whining? I was just pointing out that what they deliver is medicore at best. Imagine getting offended by this. Are you really here arguing that classic or the new classic they announced are the best they could deliver? srsly?
You’re continuing to pay for and actively complain about, a company you claim is inferior to another product.
“I hate Oreos, there’s a bunch of knockoffs that do it far better! They’re never going to be better no matter how hard they try.”
“Then why do you keep buying Oreos?”
What’s the subscription cost for a private server these days? I haven’t looked at them since Nost? If you think they do a better job, I hope you’re paying them as much as you do Blizzard.
Why you care about the fate of those Pservers you obviously despise? Im also not here arguing for pservers, all im saying is that Lizzard could do 150 times better if they actually gave a hoot (they don’t btw, its just about money for em) than they do.
For some reason you think this is reason enough to try to defend em or smth. Imagine actually defending anything Lizzard still does these days. Pathetic
No, I’m actually quite happy with what they’ve proposed, though I’d like more specifics.
What I don’t get, and what I think is pathetic, is people who continue to pay for a product they openly declare to be inferior and
Personally, I enjoy playing Classic and TBCC and will enjoy Wrath Classic too. Seasons and TBC might be too much of a time investment and I’ll pick one, but I’m happy with the product, and the experience as it is right now and what they’ve presented here.
Do I have things I’d like to see them change, sure. But I’m not pouring bile on the company because they’re not doing exactly what I think is better.
Vote with your wallet. If you don’t think their product is worth paying for, don’t pay for it. Your rhetoric says that the only reason you’re here is because private servers aren’t financially viable. And that’s clearly because you’re only paying one product’s development costs. Not two.
You don’t get to say its pathetic, while you’re throwing money hand over fist at the company you apparently hate. That’s just pathetic.
If you enjoy shoddy work or work that does the bare minimum thats okay mate. I am just pointing out that if Lizzard deletes these 12 month cycle servers, the best argument for playing on these servers, the security, goes out the window.
As it is, you currently pay 15 bucks a month for a product that is not maintained properly. Wether you want to die on your hill that this is the best the game could be… idc.
That is not what I said at all.
How would you know what I pay, to either Lizzard or Pservers?
Yea I get to say it, cause im not here defending this trashshow. Unlike you. I don’t care if anybody pays Lizzard for the game they want to play, but to come to the forums and argue that its a great product. come on dude. Get real.
Because you happily evaded the question when asked
No, you’re here to spew bile because you aren’t getting exactly what you want, and you’re happy to insult anyone who disagrees with you. So basically you rolled the wrong race, and should have gone Horde.
