According to WoWHead the Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider mount has a 1.67% drop rate which is very low considering this is a seasonal game and it’s a raid drop (so you have to compete against 9 more players and hope the master looter won’t ninja loot it).
I’m not saying it should be a 100% drop but I think it should have at least a 10-20% drop rate.

Stratholme is dungeon and not a raid, which means it doesn’t have a 3 day lockout.

It’s not meant to be easily accessible. Even with the low drop chance, I’ve still seen plenty of them roaming around. A vanity item is just that, a vanity.
That doesn’t mean it should have an unrealistic drop rate.
And a 10% drop rate doesn’t make it “easily accessible”.
I’ve only seen 1 so far in Stormwind.
Disagree, not everyone needs to get rare mounts, and as you said yourself, this is a seasonal mode. This is all getting punted to some dying server in a year and getting it won’t transfer.

Actually they buffed the drop rate in the WoTLK prepatch.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Drop rate increased from 0.02% to 1%.
I mean ZG is on a 3-day lockout and it drops mounts.
Not an issue, I’m sure by the time you are 60 you can take 3 ppl and clear the place.
If this wasn’t a a seasonal game, and it was a dungeon loot then yes. But since it’s a raid loot i’d say 10% would be nice.

The server will get wiped in a year so everything should be increased.
In the non-seasonal classic you had (and have) time to farm the ZG mounts until Cata pre-patch, meanwhile we have only less than a year to get the Mechanostrider. And this is the first time that this mount is available for players.
Seasonal or not, this is the drop rate. If you get it, cool you get bragging rights.
If you don’t, deal with it.
It’s not about bragging, rather having the experience to own it before SoD is over.
