Really its not, you’re ignorantly assuming you understand what vanilla is, and its obvious you really and truly dont understand why its good and why the gear is so coveted.
You seek to undermine its value, and gne truth is not everyone should have full BIS every raid tier or ever on a progression realm.
If you want that kind of game then play Cata or SoD because Classic2 isn’t for you.
Scarcity of item drops isn’t what makes classic classic brother. It’s the world. Plain and simple. The fact to do anything in game you are required to interact, and form bonds with your fellow players. Low amounts of item drops go completely against this, and cause friction with social groups. Your average player isn’t going to mud butt for a year just to get a chance at getting half their bis. Even if you did increase the amount of drops, you’re not going to see thousands of people running around with full bis, because the drop rates for many of the high ticket items are absurd. Again, going to raid to months at a time without progressing your character is not fun. Also, remember this server is sped up in regards to classic 2019s run time, which was also nearly a year shorter than vanilla which ran for almost 3 years.
Sir, haven’t you been paying attention? Fresh servers are for people who want retail, but reskinned to look like Classic, so they can feel superior in hating on that “dastardly retail game” while also retaining the comforts and quality of life features they’ve become accustomed to.
Of course the want the loot drop rate increased… these are folks who only want to do raids a handful of times before they move on to the next. Having to farm the same place over and over in the pursuit of BiS is boring. How dare the likes of you, or I, suggest they find enjoyment in just playing the game and spending time with its community.
By the way, they’ll probably get this. Blizzard is handing out retail-esque cookies left and right, why should this be no different?
yeah that sounds nice and all but you’re simply wrong or at least incomplete in your understanding. item scarcity is important as a form of motivation to keep raiding and get gear.
This. I am a big proponent of not guaranteeing loot. It adds to the emotion of getting, or losing, gear. Otherwise the game turns into a big checkbox simulator with little gear diversity.
I remember doing Onyxia as a main tank a ton for the only piece I was missing for the set a Wrath Helmet. It never dropped while I was in raid. There was one week I had to take off for some reason and our OT obtain it.
However guess what happen, I got burned out and stopped MTing. Slowly moved my way to a different class by the time AQ arrived.
Beyond heroic? who cares, no one is going to be gimped by not being decked out in raid gear. We know where it leads, nowhere come TBC. If you’re not playing that, then you have all the time in the world and a decreasing amount of other content to do.
The drop rate in classic is fine, so no they don’t need to make it easier to get loot, as for the shorter time frame, that simply puts even more emphasis on joining a competent guild running progression. A competent guild with a well managed loot council is probably the best bet for most raiders since the council should distribute gear to the raid team and make sure that Alts aren’t brought in which waters down the raiders, or that gear goes to peoples off spec before main spec. If your not a fan of LC, really any good guild with a properly managed loot system should be fine.
They are correct, at 2 items per boss the odds of you simply not seeing big ticket items during a phase is going to be astronomical. I didn’t get my onslaught girdle in classic until AQ40 was out. AQ40 released almost a year after classic itself launched. You’re going to be in naxx by then on fresh.
So, whether you think it’s good or bad, this will be the reality. Your raid of 5-25 warriors, will be doing MC full clears, BWL full clears, and AQ40 full clears, for all of this fresh. Because there are too many big ticket items, that are true bis, that you simply will not see enough of.
If you care about being remotely competitive at any point as a warrior, you will rank. Because the helm, shoulders, and legs, of the blue set are very good, and the shoulders, legs, and boots of the epic set are very good. And of course, the weapons are likely to be your only purple quality weapons that you will get from MC release until KT dies.
Anyone who thinks otherwise, you’re delusional. This will be the state of fresh, so dig in and get ready. The loot complaint threads are coming.
