Incredibly, I miss clicked the agility staff instead of the intellect staff while crafting with my sparks on my mage.
The name, location in the menu and even the materials to make it are exactly the same .
Customer support refuse to change it. When something is so clearly an error there has to be safeguards or support in place.
Playong with a 4 week handicap is impossible. Since there is no support, after 20 years, my subscription is done. Midnight certainly not a consideration. Customer support should improve over the years, not just evaporate.
Thereâs always an âare you sure?â window when you crafter the higher teir gear/weapons. Stating that you see what youâre doing and giving you a chance to double check. GMs isnât there to fix someone not paying attation. The tried at once, but folks was basically renting gear and GMs stop offer doing such.
Thatâs false. When creating a work order there is no such confirmation. If a big pop up came up saying âAGILITY WEAPONâ are you sure. Thats a safeguard.
Not knowing and not paying attention are two different things. There isnât a bow to craft with intellect on it, how is the player base to know that as a mage, your option to craft an agility staff is there? There is zero safeguards and blanket ruling every scenario is poor service, especially with no safeguards.
There wouldnât be anything that can be done on the forums regarding this. The onus is on the player to ensure they are crafting the correct item and Customer Support would be hands off as well. I do understand crafting the incorrect item, as Iâve done that before too. I just took it as a learning experience and moved on. Past that, I am definitely more careful about what Iâm crafting.
If you have feedback about the crafting system and professions, like adding a confirmation, that would be best posted in the Professions forum where the Community Managers do monitor for feedback.
Blizzard doesnât replace items based on customer mistakes. Theyâve put in several safeguards to prevent and in some cases with vendor purchase allows for sell back within a certain window. In the case of crafting, itâs up to the player to verify that what youâre doing is what you want. You can mouse over the item in the crafting window to guarantee stats, item level, etc.
At some point, we as players, need to take responsibility for our actions, whether we like it or not. Itâs a mistake you probably wonât make again.
This is a lot different than a crafting mistakes. The GMs are not there to fix and resolve every single mistake or accident players may make, they are there to resolve the issues that players cannot resolve themselves.
That is not guaranteed. While Blizzard may grant one or two exceptions, if it becomes habitual, Blizzard is well within their rights to refuse to grant a refund. Again, that falls on the player/customer to ensure they are clicking and purchasing on the correct thing.
It is not bad service to be told ânoâ. The sparks can be earned again, even if it takes a while.
You basically compaired apples to jet fighter planes. There are things that someone taking control away rom you and banking systems/laws in place that required Blizzard to help. In-game mistakes is the playerâs requirement to notice the item theyâre crafting/ordering and double check to ensure theyâre making the item they want.
Because of course Vagabondâs Careful Crutch is the same as Vagabondâs Bounding Baton.
The mats may be the same, and they may be on the same menu, but they have different names, and different tooltips.
Blizzard expects you to be paying attention and reading tooltips when you make your gearing decisions, be they crafting, purchasing, or upgrading. If you feel that these expectations are unreasonable, youâll want to use the in-game suggestion tool to submit that feedback.
Yes, within the scope of the support guidelines that we are given. Support is not there to undo any and every error made.
To a degree. We provide a limited amount of support if the account is compromised and we usually will only do so once. If you do not take steps to secure your account after that, including adding things like an Authenticator and SMS Protect, any further recovery assistance for a repeat occurrence would be unlikely.
We used to do so each and every time, but that didnât really help overall since a lack of account security had no lasting ramifications.
That is access to your account. it really isnât comparable to selecting the wrong item to craft.
Yes, we have policies in place for purchase mistakes. As long as they fall within those policies we may be able to help. Additionally, there are generally laws in place that govern what kind of assistance must be provided when it comes to purchases⊠a great deal different from crafting an item for your character in-game.
I am sorry, but what kind of support we are able to provide is based on the policies that our Game Developers have set. They try to provide what safeguards they can to help avoid mistakes and have added various pop up warnings and refund/return mechanics for a lot of aspects of game play but at the end of the day, you are given agency over your own actions. There may be exceptions to the rule and it doesnât hurt to ask, but it is a rare exception.
If you feel additional safeguards could be useful and should be implemented, youâll want to submit a suggestion to the Game Developers so they can take that into consideration.
Just a subtle hint to you (OP), but you might want to self report your character for a name change via the ticket system. That name is going to net you a report from other players at some point, with the difference being that with a self report you get just the name change, but if others report you, then you end up with a name change and at least a short silence applied to the account until you actually change the characterâs name, meaning you canât join groups, chat, use the AH, or the mail system.
For crafting orders where youâre asked to provide some or all of the materials, yes, but not always for items that are inherently soulbound that are being crafted for the character being played. One of the things Iâve learned to do and have had save my bacon a few times, is to have my finger over the up arrow key on my keyboard so that if I notice that Iâve made a mistake with a craft I can cancel it by way of moving as movement always cancels a craft whereas Iâve had ESC fail several times.
Either way though, the onus with crafting is on the player to select the correct item. There is no timer that starts once you pick an item from the list and you have an unlimited amount of time to read the name, scan the required materials and mouse over the icon at the top of the window showing the finalized stats before you click the create button.
