I have the Webster’s backing me up and the commonly accepted use of the word compromise which is not shoving stuff down someone else’s throat without sitting down and talking about it. So sorry to inform you that it was not a compromise no matter how much you try to convince yourself That it was. It absolutely was not a compromise when it was a response two players demanding that they keep flight in the game and then they just shoved Pathfinder down our throat

well it was 12 years ago, and i drink alot, but still, the argument that started this is still stupid. pathfinder isnt what brought subs down, and is still a stupid argument.
so you’re going to sit around in old content for at least a year waiting for pathfinding? i think that is more shocking

Im coming back for pathfinder since well no flying for a while so il take your place in the server 
the absolute fact of the matter is they still want to remove flight and we all know it. So Pathfinder is going to just keep getting more and more irritating so that fewer and fewer players have it so by the time it’s all said and done there won’t be but eight of us who have it and they’ll be able to remove flight together and the screaming won’t matter,
and the Pathfinder fans here who are defending Pathfinder will be complicit in the loss of flight when it happens

I didn’t really care in WoD and don’t particularly care now. Even having pathfinder now half the time I forget I have it and pull out a ground mount. Like… it’s nice but it’s not such a huge impact on my gameplay experience that it makes it or breaks it.

I won’t preorder might not even bother. Every time I have to do a part 2 with pathfinder I get more and more irked by it. Unless they plan to lesson the requirements I might not bother. Not like there is really anything exciting coming. Same classes with a few new abilities, more races for one class, deleveling 60 levels.
I don’t mind grinding out one pathfinder and I wouldn’t even care to wait till the first major patch. But making players wait until X.2 and then have to grind out a second pathfinder is BS. Only reason we have pathfinder is butthurt devs who can’t admit they were wrong on trying to remove flight in WOD.
Yes please remove flying for good. Its bad for the game and if you have to do pointless and meaningless stuff to unlock it to then do the same old and meaningless stuff then why the hell are you playing this game in the first place…
I can tell you it’s the reason I’m not buying Shadowlands. And not just because of the flight issue, but the reasoning behind it and what Pathfinder represents: manipulating the playerbase. The devs dangle FUN like a carrot on a stick, dragging players along for months. Whereas they use to just give us these things and trust the game was good enough to keep players playing and engaged. They’ve abandoned that philosophy and have resorted to this exploitative game design.
I didn’t buy WoD until they announced they’d be adding flying. Then they had this broken Pathfinder system. I bought Legion because I thought they’d learn from that mistake and do a better job of it. Instead it was even worse. I only bought BfA as a thank-you for them making Classic. I don’t have flying and never will for this expansion. So now I’ve been fooled three downs. There will not be a fourth. I will never buy another WoW expansion as long as they continue with this kind of game design. It is fundamentally broken, and it’s the over-arching reason why the game isn’t fun anymore. Because it’s not designed to be fun, it’s designed to be potentially fun. And that potential is used to string players along with pointless time gating and grinds.
As an aside, I love Classic. But I’m at the point where I can no longer support this company. So I’ll stop even paying for that. All because the designers are too stubborn to go back to the game design where they put fun at the forefront. Now they rely on these manipulative designs to keep players ‘engaged’. It’s sad how far this game has fallen.
Now I am picturing the game like a relay race. Lol.
Only thing you KNOW, is that it didn’t make YOU quit. Subs were cut in half when flight was canceled, some, no where near all, came back with the compromise Blizz shoved down our throats. Self inflicted wound they’ve never recovered from. So much lost revenue, that’s definition of hubris.
WOD had a ton of problems and i quit the game then for sometime and i hate flying so please dont generalise for the sake of your arguement.
I don’t mind having to earn flying, but make it an interesting quest chain, not a boring rep grind. The devs don’t seem to get that the playerbase has aged and many of us that started playing in the early days now have careers and families that take up a lot of time and we can no longer sit at a computer grinding rep for hours on end.
oh no doubt they’re going to remove flight entirely and then when this game is dead and last server gets shut down you’ll have no one else to blame but yourselves
I prefer to play a game i enjoy alot then compromise for a product that i can hardly enjoy now so please do leave il have my fun for the next few years…
If the higher-ups had any idea the revenue this issue is costing them they’d fire these devs in a heartbeat. It really is self-inflicted wounds.
