In shock, Ion said NO FLYING, and PATHFINDER AGAIN

Pathfinder is fine, but if you’re only going to have patches go up to x.3, then don’t introduce flying in x.2.

Hubris?

There are two main camps, flyers and flyer deniers.

Blizz compromised to appease both camps.

If they would just let Part 1 open Flying in part 1 and then let part 2 open flying in part 2 it would be so much better. I do all the stuff in pathfinder anyway so I don’t mind doing what is required. It’s the freakin 1 year wait after I complete it to finally get what I worked for I hate.

This is what we should all be focusing on.

They are not removing Pathfinder.
They are not removing flight.

They may be willing to modify how Pathfinder works if we would stop screeching at each other long enough to actually try something that may work.

P1 for launch areas.
P2 for patch areas.

The opposite is true.

A lot of players didn’t “survive”. They ended up being demoralized and quitting over the issue.

Lots of players have said they were leaving. We don’t see them anymore. Lots of players who came back after their first run in with Pathfinder left again, this time for good.

How many players have left since the devs started their anti-flight rampage? 10 million? Coincidence? Only partly.

I said I’d buy BfA after flight was finally released and get pathfinder then. But I have had no motivation to play BfA, an expansion I would never have a single reason to want to go back to.

The longer we have pathfinder, the more players will look and say, “I just can’t do this again, and with more requirements, and increased time delay before implementation,” and give up.

And how many players have joined the game on hearing about pathfinder?

Absolutely none. Pathfinder has been a huge net loss to the game.

Enjoy on what aspect? Flying is a simple necessity for every content exploration. No need to time gate it or make a pathfinder part 2 WITH “KILL 10 NAGA and COLLECT 5 PEARLS quests”. It has been 5 years true, but flying before has already existed for almost 7-8 years compared to that. It isn’t a mental illness, just because people ask for something mandatory.

If you don’t like it. Just stay to your ground mounts and let the rest of us soar through the skies, please.

And in Wrath, where flight was available before max level, we had a growing player base at record numbers…oh and they embraced flight, there was content accessed through flight.

thats my only gripe. but atleast in BFA they didnt give us flight and then funnel us into new areas and take flight away in that area, like in Legion…

“Do you hate doing the stuff needed for Pathfinder?”

I definitely hate it. Thanks to Timewalking dungeons, two of my characters got to 120 in no time at all, so I went back and just completed one zone because I guess you have to, and it was rather annoying, knowing that there’s no real point in continuing because I won’t finish ALLLLL the requirements until the next expansion arrives.

The hate grows even stronger knowing this garbage exists only because griefers didn’t want their victims to get away, and the devs LISTENED TO THEM. It was that whole “disrupted my sense of immersion” bull. Flying mounts had been around for seven years, so the real sense of disrupted immersion is not being able to fly wherever I want to.

no we didnt. you had to get to level 80 first and then get flight. later on they added a thome you could buy to send to an alt to unlock flight at 68.

If you were around when flight was canceled, you’d know there weren’t two camps, at least not in anywhere close to equal representation.

I was around and yes there were. There are people who claim that flying made things too easy.

So when flying does get released…you’ll still be behind… Not playing over an axis is travel?

I am referring specifically to the people like OP.

Legion announced:
“I refuse to buy it until Pathfinder is removed.”
Eventually they buy it.

BfA announced:
“I refuse to buy it until Pathfinder is removed.”
Eventually they buy it.

SL announced:
“I refuse to buy it until Pathfinder is removed.”

If people really hate Pathfinder, then fine… they is totally their call, but for the love of all that is holy STOP GIVING THEM MONEY. Threatening them and not following through DOES NOT DO ANYTHING.

Quit. Stay quit. If enough people do that they will remove it.

Ion wasn’t boo’d in a matter these pro flight players would have told us.

It’s almost as if most players don’t give a damn about travel convenience.

Pathfinder is a compromise, deal with it.

sorry but as long as you have people who are going to defend this joke called Pathfinder and be willing to do it then blizzard has no incentive to quit pulling this crap on the player base.

You could fly at 77, did you even play the game? Cold weather flying.

I love levelling through new content, I would even like doing WQs. I did MoP dailies on several alts to exalted. What I do not like is the travelling on the ground for repetitive content through 100s of mobs and obstacles. I also don’t like flight whistle because it breaks immersion.
You do not get Pathfinder just by questing and exploring. You need to do a lot of repetitive stuff to even get close. And there is no choice in what you do or how you do it.

I kinda like pathfinder. It can be tedious but I love the moment when I finally complete it and I take off on my Silver Covenant Hippogryph.

I suggest you actually crack open a Webster some time because Pathfinder was nothing like a compromise sorry to inform you. A compromise is where both sides sit down together and work out some kind of a deal. That ain’t what happened with Pathfinder in case you somehow missed the actual facts and history of the situation. They said they were removing flight entirely, the playerbase rebelled and tossed a fit about it, and then they forcibly shoved Pathfinder down our throats. There was no compromise to it so try again
