I don’t remember hating Wrath when before level cap I could fly over it. Maybe Blizz is just Not good at this anymore.

Nobody cares about wpvp. Blizzard literally tried to bribe people with heroic level raid gear to increase participation. That was before flying was available btw.

That’s fine. Do you hate doing the stuff needed for Pathfinder? I, personally, found it to be easy, as it was stuff I was already doing playing the game.

Flying is definitely something I wanted to see not time gated. Or controlled better. They could lock the Maw to be flightless and give all the other zones flying w PF1. Then on PF2 give universal flying. Or they could just let us have flying unlocked everywhere with PF1. I just want the time gating to stop or be better controlled.

Really? They have in the past. The only reason they don’t now is Blizzard has chosen to not put them in the air against all logic.
It’s been a long time, but I do remember guard using guns, and there are things called griffin riders and Bat riders that would knock you off our mount or use artillery to blast you out of the sky. Ever heard of a Fell Cannon? Go stand over one of those at the proper level just sit there and let’s see how long you live.

I quit nearly five years ago when the devs listened to the gankers and took flying mounts away, so let’s never forget that this “Pathfinder” system exists only to please the absolute worst PvPers out there.
(…and I’m here only because my brother bought me some game time so we could play Classic; I keep discovering new reasons every day why Classic had to become the Retail we have today.)

I am worried more about the mental state of people who claim to hate something yet are still here after 5 freaking years.
People that are paying for something they enjoy are fine. People who are paying for something that gives them this much rage aren’t.

Mostly I despise part 2, which is why I won’t bother with Shadowlands until I know exactly when all this development crew’s time gates are over.
Re-earning flying every expac has become tired. They used to have enough imagination to create interesting content around systems like flight. Now they are lazy, resorting to uninspired time gates to increase some metric. I used to never log off, didn’t require anything artificial…now it’s easy.

Hah, good luck with that. I’ve already tried suggesting that and the “pro flyers” shot it down, big time. Sorry, but the majority of players who are super pro flight don’t want dangerous skies. You’re in the minority there.
I can understand that. I think that the amount of time between part 1 and part 2 could be adjusted. It feels that many people want flight day 1 though, which I just can’t see happening.

It’s astounding the disconnect they have with the playerbase on this issue. Or the flat-out stubbornness they’re displaying.
Flying was never an issue until Blizzard made it an issue. They had a model that worked and broke it for no other reason than to break it, and refuse to simply return to what they know players enjoyed. Instead they rely on stringing us along for months on end to keep people subbed and paying in order to unlock something that we used to get right away. It’s pure manipulative game design.
I also will never buy a WoW expansion until they abandon this kind of game design. But it doesn’t look like that’ll happen until whatever designer who insists on this broken system leaves or gets fired.

I don’t get why you’re shocked. Blizzard loves pathfinder and never gave any indication of ever doing anything else ever again. I loathe pathfinder, but have zero hope of it ever going away. (Even in the new levelling system, I expect flying to only work in bc, wrath, mop, and whichever pathfinders you got).
Instead of ‘shock’, maybe just ‘groan at confirmation of the continuance of this thing we dislike’. I was actually well-acclimated to pathfinder requirements until nazjatar’s ultra-screwy layout and whacked out questing drove me out to snes pending classic launch. Just crossing fingers the shadowlands landscape and quest layout is less jacked up than nazjatar.
No you get it by “playing the game”, then waiting a year for some arbitrary time gate, then getting to do the day daily quests over and over for 3 weeks? A month? Who knows?
In fact, the gold problem they have could easily be helped by charging for it. In their wisdom, they’d blow it and paying would be Pathfinder part 3. Totally the new Blizz. Self inflicted sub losses for hubris.

and in Cata, which started the sub bleed, you could fly right off the bat and didnt even need to level! you might want to follow your own advice there buddy.
