In shock, Ion said NO FLYING, and PATHFINDER AGAIN

See you in the Shadowlands

I wouldn’t say everyone. Most of the people I know that play went there to get the loot chests, and kill some rares to maybe fill in a couple slots that could be upgraded gear wise on their mains, or sent them to alts, and never went back to that place after doing that lol.

I am glad you enjoyed TI, but it is my least favorite place ever. I even preferred Argus to TI.

I prefer the original Isle. The Isle of Quel’danas.

Actually I did love being there back in the day. I haven’t been back in a long time but the music hits me like a ton of nostalgic bricks.

Quel’Danas was cool too. I just didn’t like TI because it lacked structure beyond the one daily and weekly. I know some people prefer that open world do whatever you want feel, but I am more of a task oriented person.

I’m kinda in the middle. I enjoyed TI and spent a lot of time there. The freeform style of play was a nice compared to the mountain of dailies MoP had at the beginning.

Yeah I know some people that spent a ton of time there doing various things and other people who just went for daily/weekly/world bosses and that’s it. We are probably due some more content for people that enjoy that sort of thing. Been a while since TI was current, lol.

Yup more and more people are realizing the truth of the situation. The content on the ground has become worse since introducing patchfinder.

BC, WotLK, Cata and MoP ground content blows out of the water all the content that has come with Legion, WoD and BFA.

Legion, WoD, and BFA are all fisher price level of design while BC, WotLK, Cata and MoP were all designed for true gamers in mind.

so so close, you’ve almost got it

most people completely misunderstand the point of pathfinding in the first place, the reason it was introduced

these people spend years making the expansions for us (I don’t mean blizzard the corporate entity, I mean the individuals, the artist and programmers) and we would come in with each xpac like a bunch of unappreciative d bag children, hop on our flying mounts, and not acknowledge or care about the hard work that went it to everything we decided to skip over because it was too slow to run around on the ground

they implemented pathfinder to force us to play the content they spent years creating, at least for a while, before they let us skip it like the entitled little pricks most of us act like

people wanting pathfinder day 1, are exactly the reason pathfinder is there, and that will NEVER change, unless the players do (which is even less likely)

the solution to the situation is not to give us pathfinder day 1, its to make the ground game good enough that we don’t feel we need pathfinder day 1, asking for pathfinder day 1 is treating the symptoms, not the illness

that being said, 6 months is more than enough time to appreciate the work that went in to making the xpac, 1 year is unnecessary

make ground game better, give us PF at 6 months

Then SLOW progression down. Don’t force people to do dailies for months for pathfinder/flying.

People hitting max level after an expansion releases 2-3 days in is mindnumbingly stupid.

Levelling should take months, not days.

They have it completely mixed up imo.

People already complain 3 days is too slow… you aren’t gonna make many friends suggesting it should take months. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah Im not too thrilled. I think if they made it so you only have to do the initial story quests for the zones without, then you unlock pf, it would be ok.

Timegating however, not ok. It is why I havent preordered. I will wait until timegate is near its end to play shadowlands.

No. Sorry. Maybe that was the initial feeling behind it, but not why they do it. They took away flying completely at WoD but people were rightfully outraged because of the store mounts and all the time initially put in to farming gold for flying. So instead the devs decided to make it tedious to get each DLC, plus it allows them to be a little content lazy and make us re-farm old content.

Having us play through the content one time is fine, hell even revered rep is fine, time gating it like they did in BFA was cancer. I didn’t love the game again until I got flying back. I find and enjoy more of the content with flying. Them doing this garbage doesn’t make me enjoy the content whatsoever.

taking away flying in WoD exactly supports my point, they wanted people to walk around all the content they made and not skip it

adding it back in was a necessity because you can’t give a kid a candy bar, let him take a bite, then take it away and expect him not to cry

and im not saying I agree with how they implement it, im not saying I don’t want it day 1 too (because I do, because im lazy)

im just saying, most people misunderstand the reasons its here, and are arguing for something that will never happen because of that misunderstanding

they will never let us buy flying day 1 again, its just not gonna happen, but there are better way to implement PF, that let them feel satisfied that their content was appreciated, and let us feel like we aren’t being forced to repeat crap or grind rep or do things we don’t want to do

how about make PF a series of quests, tied into the story/questing in each new zone, make it available day 1, but make it a middle difficult quest line in each zone, ending with a heroic dungeon, or LFR difficulty boss in each zone

forces us to play their creation they way they want at least one time, but makes it available to us right away

No one is expecting it day one, although with this DLC it could have been very cool to have quests that require flying instead of taking it away. PF is very unpopular, and again it allows them to be content lazy because people focus on getting it back instead for a while. I think BC, Wrath, and Panda were explored just fine while keeping Flying active. Same reason the PvP excuses wont fly with me. Flying was in all those expansions, and PvP was fine.

I understand its what they want, but they aren’t the players. Most do not want this, they played the devs little pathfinder game for a while, and they are fed up after the timegate. They have gotten so lazy and awful with gameplay content it’s ridiculous. Content feels replaced by pathfinder, which is why it annoys me.
I really hope they update with new and better features, because usually when Im active Im quick to buy a preoder… Havent even considered buying shadowlands yet until I have a lot more info.

It is BS, they act like we the players are a giant headache that they HAVE to give flying to

lots of people want to be able to buy it day 1

also, you can’t really make a claim that PF is unpopular, there are almost as many people on these forums that want it to stay as there are people that want it gone

and typically people are more vocal when they are complaining than they are when they want to be complimentary

unfortunately, only blizzard has enough data to actually know if PF is regarded positively or negatively overall

personally, i’ll buy shadowlands just for the leveling changes (im an altaholic so thats a hugely positive change for me) but if they did a better job implementing PF id be even happier

I mean … we are

their is not a prayer in hell they could pull flying now and not see huge drop in subs

I guarantee if they could start over at BC they would never give us flying to begin with, it wasn’t expected back then, its expected now and every detail about it become a giant controversy they have to deal with

I’ve watched population drop, guildies leave game, and many many posts for years about disliking it. I see people in game talking about disliking it all the time too.
I am fine with it staying myself, if it isn’t too ridiculous or timegated. That doesn’t mean I defend how they have dealt with it though. I just think doing some content for it vs paying an annoying amount of gold is fine, and it shouldn’t be any kind of content focus.

Yes the leveling changes are good, model updates are good, but not “DLC content” in my eyes either. Leveling will change regardless of the DLC. Model updates are a Quality of Life change that just needs to happen as time goes on, in fact they should just be dropping model/texture updates as they get completed, not as content.
Im probably coming across as rude, really don’t mean to. I love the game, I want it to bring members BACK, not push more away. That is why I get vocal on this. Nothing in Shadowlands is screaming “come back” to those who left, which is what NEEDS to happen.

And the reason why all the replies are full of fanbois is because the people who hate pathfinder left. It’s a no brainer
