You lack history, it was worse after BG’s came out, BG’s killed WPvP not flying.
No one has been able to fly in any current zone for the last 4 xpacs accept the last Tier accept Najatar and Wpvp has not been revived in all these years. The same people still are complaining about Wpvp as if it’s a real thing that really hasn’t existed since Vanilla. Most of you guys haven’t seen real Wpvp.
BTW can you prove it was flying and not just that people turned off Warmode? I think not.
Flying in later xpacs was cheap and never more then what was made during levelling. Therefore flying shouldn’t even cost a wow token. That would be like selling it through the store. The devs decide how, when and how expensive flying would be so Ion is just threatening because he is in control. They easily could have given flying in WoD for free because of the long wait already.
I see the maps and zones less without flying because it’s too much of a PITA to go out into the world without flying. So I just completely stop playing the game for almost an entire year until flying is back in the game. That’s what a lot of people do, too. The wait for Pathfinder doesn’t make people see the world more, it makes them stop playing the game for long periods of time.
pathfinder is fine. the game is made without flying in mind to start. the flight whistle is more than adequate. and i can honestly say if i had flying earlier, i would know the new continents significantly less. the art and design team is worth my ground mount time imo
The greatest thing about life is an opinion, we all have them. I disagree with your statement. I think the gating of flying is a huge problem for the community as a whole.
I am a big believer in having flying at max level, I am also a big believer in not using services or options that effect your ability to enjoy a game.
I have gone on to Lotro which has better story, landscape and avatars. Flying wouldn’t make sense there either and mobs are not crowding the zones. So I don’t play it, haven’t bought WoD, Legion, or BfA but levelled through WoD and Legion once they became free. I subbed for Classic because my daughter plays.
Logged on to retail today for my anniversary presents and did a few WQs. Just a reminder how tedious it is. So I already left but am still hoping they turn the ship around.
Which is a shame. Purposefully ignoring a feature loved by many because wow’s developenent is to damn slow to incorporate it into their cycles.
Common theme amongst you anti-flyers. No self control. If the game is more fun by skipping a feature, I skip it. I don’t punish myself by playing pvp when i don’t want, same with LFR and Mythic+. Why would you punish yourself by using a feature you don’t like and fly over the zones you love so much?
Except that “see their hard work” excuse falls flat when flying gives you a much better appreciation of the art team’s hard work in every possible way.
I would like to see your hard, statistical data on how flying improves game appreciation.
Cause like…4 expacks in a row with pathfinder now, and a classic launch as well…and WoW still isn’t dead.
For all the whining, Pathfinder is still here, and enough people continue to subscribe despite Pathfinder that the Devs don’t seem to consider it a big issue.
Your argument is only valid if people like me, the ones who don’t mind jumping through hoops (within reason) to unlock flying, didnt exist.
Except that flying licenses has NEVER been more than 2500g. 700g for wrath, 250g for cata, 2500g for MoP. I don’t know why some of you people think flying should be some absurd amount. Oh wait yes I do. It’s because you’re anti-flying.
You see a more complete picture of the art team’s work with flying. That’s a fact. That’s not a debate or an opinion. You see more of the world and the art team’s work with flying than not.
If that was the case and they just wanted you to see the game from the ground then pathfinder part 1 should be more than sufficient for that. Why is there a year time gate until you can truly unlock flying? Spite.
Definitely submission. I stopped playing Fallout '76 when Classic came out, and the folks here defending Pathfinder sound exactly like the Bethesda cultists who spent 11 months arguing that players don’t need any more storage space, they had plenty already. In fact, they argued, servers were so unstable and crashing all the time because 800 lbs was TOO MUCH!!!
So what does Bethesda offer? Unlimited storage, for $12.99/month.
I really should go back to the forums to see if any of these bootlickers finally admitted they were wrong.
