i’m sure you are
I am shocked there are kids that think taxation is theft these days…but then i realize libertarianism is just children grown physically but not mentally
Very true. I blame the parents.
You may not pre-purchase but you’re still subbing and going to play Shadowlands.
even if he doesn’t, and just stays at BFA level or playing classic, blizz wins
Okay so design around that. Mario has a flying hat and Spyro the Dragon has wings, but Mario searches for stars on the ground, and Spyro for gems on the ground, because they need them to progress.
In WoW, you progress by equipping better gear. The gear is inside of Mythic+ dungeons and raids, not in open world leveling quests. As much as I’d like the open world to be endgame, with a cap of 415 on WQ rewards it clearly is not. You’re not given proper incentives, only artificial ones like Pathfinder.
No that’s not why.
Ion said that the alternatives are worse for everyone because basically casuals wouldn’t be able to cough up the gold to pay 500k+
If you think Flying will be the cost of a WoW token you’re mistaken.
Flying has ALWAYS been gated. Literally from the start. That’s why you need gold. For some having the gold wasn’t a problem but the majority of players would find this alternative worse.
There are a few others as well and they come with drawbacks too.
“Just make the price of a WoW token also the same as flying.” Not going to happen. Flying training as an alternative has many negatives for casuals who don’t have the time to flip and farm for things to put on the AH.
I don’t mind not being able to fly for an extended period if it means I have fun things to do on the ground. BfA did not offer that, in my opinion.
When playing open world games like GTA you don’t run the same repeatable quests every day. To earn a chopper you dont have to wait 8+ months for a patch to earn flight.
Also GTA5 you can start flying the moment you unlock Trevor which takes a couple hours of gameplay. Man does that game look amazing from the sky.
Same. I actually like Pathfinder. It keeps ground mounts relevant in world content.
I don’t like Pathfinder. It shouldn’t exist at all. But…they are sticking to it so people need to learn to make the most of it. And if I’m having fun I don’t need to be flying. If I’m not, however, I would very much like to be. lol
I like Pathfinder. I think it should exist and well it does. As Ion said. The alternatives are worse. Flying has always been gated. From the start. It used to be gated by gold. Now it’s just time gated.
People keep coming up with ways to give Blizzard why they think there is a gate on flying in the first place while also ensuring you’re going to get flying within the first few months of the expansion.
If you want flying in the first few months then it’s not a proper gate. The alternative gating methods for flying are worse just like Ion said.
Taxation is theft. If you have to resort to hurting people to obtain taxes and not peace and love you have already lost the argument.
Long live Sylvanas!
This has been the status quo for the last 5 years at least.
A high class Blood elf like yourself should not be living under a rock
“In shock”? lol
I hope they do the right thing next expansion: Only allow flying when the content ends (last patch of the xpac).
Solo play games are not MMOs…
I’ve been very silent on this issue since path finder became a thing but now I’ll actually voice my opinion.
For me, I absolutely hate the fact that we can’t fly until half way through an expansion. I tolerated it for WoD. I started to greatly dislike it in Legion and in BfA, it drove me absolutely insane. I could not stand not being able to fly.
Going into this next expansion, I know I’m going to hate not being able to fly. For me, flying makes me feel like I’ve achieved something that’s for sure, but waiting too long into an expansion, just takes away a lot of the joy of flying. I think it just takes way too long for us to be able to fly.
My proposed solution to the no flying issue would be to just move up the timeline in which we’ll be able to learn flying. For me, It’ll be a bit of stress off my shoulders. I’ll still be able to appreciate being able to fly again and I just think overall it’ll feel better to have flying at say a 9.1 patch rather than halfway through an expansion.
And the status quo of Classic not existing went on for over a decade.
If it’s okay to bring up that you enjoyed vanilla, it’s okay to bring up that you enjoyed paying a small amount of gold to fly in MoP.
Mechagon and Naz took “grinders” all of a week. Not “months”.
Pathfinder falls into your lap if you’re actually doing the content. To the most dedicated of players it’s a joke to complete.
Do what I do and unsubscribe while flying is not available. If enough people do it, they’ll be forced to wonder why profits dip after launch hype, and unfortunately, that seems to be the best way to make them listen, speaking with the wallet.
