LOL, As if riding thru the game on the ground is some how playing the game and flying over it is not… Please man, where do you get this logic? Perhaps they should just add more birds with a HUGE agro zone that will attack you in the air and force you to the ground and make you fight them? What Blizzard lacks is imagination in this regard. It is clear the move is not about immersion and very much so about making you spend your time avoiding the mobs on the ground.

I mean you can say this but PVP servers were instantly worse after flying came out, and Battle for Nazjatar became an even bigger joke

I like Pathfinder. Lets me unlock flying on all my alts for free and I get to unlock it by just playing the game as I normally would.

The only thing I dont really like is the timegating to stretch it over several content patches. I hope pathfinder is something we can work on from the beginning for the zones we have. And later pathfinders unlock it for the other added zones.

Pathfinder is fine. If you just play the xpac you will get flying easily. And its the best solution we have to the design issues that flying brings.

Just play the expansion until you get all the requirements for pathfinder done…then sit and wait because flying is still spitefully time gated.

Flying doesn’t cause any issues. It didn’t cause any issues for 8 years when they basically gave it to us at max level. Some would say those were the best expansions of wow’s life.

At this point, I don’t expect Ion to change his mind on it. It is what it is.

Honestly, there’s so little to be excited for with Shadowlands that even if they had given us flying I’d be kinda “meh” about the whole expansion.

No new class, more rental abilities, no class rework (bad news for my main and my primary alt) … flying, shmying at this point. Granted, I’m looking forward to that replayable tower that I can’t spell and crafting legendaries. Improved customization is something to look forward to as well … just not as exciting to me as a new class or fixing ones that are completely broken like arcane mage, affliction lock, enhancement shaman, etc.

I just hope the expac has a fluid and lore-driven story that I can immerse myself into … not the absolute dumpster fire that BfA was.

Ever since they introduced Flying in BC, you needed to unlock it. In BC, you just had to get max level, and pay 5k gold…which was so astronomical, people sold their bodies on the internet in exchange for a flying mount.

In every incarnation of flying in WoW, you have to EARN it.

You have to play the game. You have to explore. You have to save your money. You have to build up a relationship with the relevant factions.

I repeat: YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME TO EARN IT.

This has not changed in the 12 years WoW has had flying.

If you do not accept this, do not play the game. 15 years I have been dealing with this garbage.

Play the ****ing game.

There is a big difference between playing the game the way I want and earning the minimal amount of gold and playing the game like the devs want (content I might not like or find to tedious to get to not flying).

I too, am shocked that something that’s been in the game for nearly 6 years is still in the game, and that people who claimed they would unsub forever and never purchase another Blizz product as long as they live unless pathfinder is removed are still subbed and still making the same empty threats years later.
