This exactly. Except I don’t just “not like” part 2. I loathe part 2. Part 1 is sufficient to experience the content and enable flying.

Just saw this on another thread (link). What bothers me is not Ion’s answer, it’s the delusion he thinks it’s a compromise.
“It annoys everyone a little bit, it’s probably better than the alternatives”. Way to judge the audience Ion, I don’t think they’re sold on your BS

its not chores , it is just playing the game as it is meant to be played . PvP is a mini game of WoW. Take it out of the game and nothing fundamentally changes with how the game plays . take teh PvE part out of the game and there is nothing recognisable left , no story , no character development , no game . just want to PvP - go play Overwatch

You are assuming that they are going to have a part 2 again. We havent gotten confirmation on how it will work really. Though it is safe to assume.

Actually, no it’s not. Reputation dailies as the ultimate end-game content really didn’t exist until Warlords. Which was the same point at which they tried to take flying out of the game.
Prior to Warlords, questing content was primarily leveling content and dailies, content you did in between running raids and dungeons. Matter of fact, you could completely ignore questing content if you chose to. Now, it’s essentially forced content. Flying is being used as a “punishment carrot” to get the player into this style of content whether they want to play it or not. They are time-wasting chores.

My problem is the massive time gating and until Blizzard state otherwise I have no reason to assume it won’t be another ungodly timer. I’d love to be wrong here, I’d love it if they said “We here you so we’ve changed the time and now you can…”. They’re making a lot of changes so it is possible but I won’t let the hype train bite me as I’ve been nipped in the butt too often by it. Words can change but I’d rather they stepped up and clarified ahead of time.

All my characters have warmode on. Since I regularly see tons of people in game, they must have warmode turned on too. But yeah. “Nobody”.
Yea Blizzard had to bribe people with heroic raid level gear just to participate before flying was even available. Sure. It’s “popular”.

I haven’t read my way through the thread yet by any means, but I’m surprised more people aren’t realizing the potential/implications of pathfinder in conjunction with the new leveling overhaul.
The ability to fly on any alt in the expac you have it in + the ability to choose any expac to level from 10 to 50 = the ability to fly in those zones and level from 10 onward.
That could be pretty cool and worthwhile to do for anyone who hasn’t put in the time yet to earn pathfinder for pre-BFA zones.
I never suggested you have to agree with other opinions, so not sure why you felt this point needed to be made.
My best guess would be that you’re struggling with the difference between not respecting or agreeing with an opinion and lobbing insults/attack at the person expressing the opinion you don’t like.
Which brings me back to my previous statement: grow up.
It was obvious pathfinder will stay because it’s their best tradeoff.
Gold is nothing in retail. Removing flying completely - no. Giving from start - then you’ll miss all groundwork.

It really depends on something else for me.
Are we locked to doing world quests for rep? If so it’s a 2-3 year vacation for me.
Then follow your claim and leave il take your place when flying is gated. Hell me and 5 of my friends and some family members will all comeback soo i guess it balances out.
Flying is a problem simply because it dosent work well with the engine of the game. They gave you a flight hack and put a shiny mount under your character while its active. Pathfinder exists as a compromise that me and most of the people i know have accepted as a trade off since so many of you like flying but we hate it.

Wouldn’t be great if they’d just make no flight servers and flight servers so you could ground yourself permanently ? Seems like a better “compromise “, groundie servers and flyer servers. Or groundie in warmode?

I wonder if there are any no mounts at all people out there. Maybe that group is debating over run vs walking. I bet the walking group just hates that auto-run feature.
