You couldn’t see it but, I stood up and clapped for that one.
Nothing I said was untrue. Die hard Apple people buy first and foremost for the name Apple. Quality is definitely an after thought.
The cult-like fanaticism comes from the people who buy the products. And the sycophantic defense of them, like you’re displaying.
I don’t hate apple. But I won’t buy their overpriced garbage that they engineer purposefully so non-Apple entities cannot work on their devices.
Lovelight, by the way, I’ve owed many Apple products and have like them all. It’s the Cult of Apple people that scare me and I can’t stand them. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t make funny of Apple so much.
People who blindly support all of apple’s horrible decisions and laziness are the same as people who support all the bad decisions WoW devs make, except for maybe x10 worse.
I probably won’t buy it because I don’t need most of its features but I do buy Apple products. Not because Apple makes them but because they all integrate together nicely and work well. If someone makes a product that works as smoothly with everything else then I’d look at that product too.
If you look at the feature set and try to duplicate it faithfully you’re going to find very many other brands in the same price range. At that point it comes down to aesthetics and integration. If you like Apple then get Apple, if you like Sennheiser then get Sennheiser. There’s not a single thing wrong with that.
Don’t just buy features you won’t use at a higher price if you don’t need them. Yes, some people will do that just to get the newest shiny to brag about. I don’t agree with it but more power to Apple if they’re that shiny.
This is a different market entirely though. Your average person isn’t going around spending $600 on a pair of headphones. Unlike smartphones which are almost a necessity at this point with how much they offer.
Headphones at these prices are more specialty so chances are people who aren’t audiophiles and/or people who work with audio in their careers are buying these for the brand and the status that comes with it.
And honestly people who are the target demographic for these won’t buy them until they know how well they work as there are established brands already for them.
Yeah you can buy a headphone that’s 10x better than the Apple headphone for like 1/3rd of the price and they aren’t even considered high end headphones. They’re considered beginner entry of mid to upper tier quality headphones. But the fact that bunch of people are buying Beats headphones for overpriced amount of money despite being crap says enough.
I think Apple has done a masterful marketing job to convince so many people that Apple is the “cool kids product” and that even if it cost double or triple a competitor’s product they still will only buy Apple.
Really? So what is this magical headphone and how does the specs compare, bullet point to bullet point? I’d love to see it.
iPhones are high quality though.
You’re making a distinction about Apple fans that you’re not applying to others here, which is my larger point.
It’s one thing if you prefer Android. Heck I have a friend who is a “Samsung guy”. There are people who only buy Ford trucks. Nvidia GPU’s. You can be fans of whatever you want.
Though the difference is you don’t see people getting all bent out of shape for those companies as you do for the Anti Apple people.
No… Its just a freezer that don’t work well.
Now how often do you see this: down with corporations and capitalism! (Sent from my iphone)
I swear almost every iphone has a cracked screen at least at work.
It’s just for Apple, I’ve learned.
I’ve owned some type of Apple product since 1985. And Apple has always seemed to get this kind of reaction or attention. No matter what they do.
About the only company I’ve seen something similar happen to is Tesla.
any new apple device is basically equivalent to a 4 year older samsung device, but also costing two or three times more than they ever costed.
Once again, it’s because those companies’ fans do not have a known reputation. Apple fans do have that reputation. I thought pretty much everyone knew this.
It’s a bad troll, Dave, but we’ll see how it works out for them!
You’re right, $600 headphones are not for everyone. But yet all these people have to chime in with an opinion because of Apple, though.
Where’s the hate for Sennheiser on the wow forums when they come out with a new model
Not necessarily because of Apple directly. It is because of their obsessive and cultish fans.
Honestly, I don’t need something that fancy or expensive, just as long as it does its purpose. A headphone is a headphone, imo.
Who cares what other people choose to spend their money on?
I spent $1800 on a cat I love dearly… most people think that’s insane.
It doesn’t matter because its MY money.
