I’m the opposite. If it’s between a “relatively good” $600 electronics item that will break within a few years, or a single item of buy-it-for-life clothing, I’m picking the clothing.

No. Apple fans have this known reputation of being completely infatuated with Apple products to the point that they refuse to even consider other options. Like I said, it’s the “If it ain’t Apple, it’s crap” mindset. That is 100% real. And you don’t see that level of extremes with most other fan bases.
Eh, there are a ton of other headphones in that price range with similar specs. Yes, they are expensive headphones but they do a ton. They’re clearly not for everyone and there are good-sounding headphones for less but you’re not getting all those features without spending similar money.
Also, those other headphones don’t have the name Apple on them. That is what is most important to a lot of people.

Some care about the name, some don’t. Even with or without the name the headphones are pretty good with tons of features. Are they worth the money? Maybe, maybe not but they aren’t the only ones in that price range.

Audiophiles will spend a lot on very high-end headphones. The issue is that Apple’s product very rarely matches their price point, especially when it comes to audio equipment.

Let’s be honest most of the people buying this product will do so because it’s Apple. Very few of the people who will buy these $600 headphones are buying them because they are great sounding and good quality. Like you said, there are many headphones out there that most likely sound just as good and is of similar quality, but those products don’t have the name. By the way, I don’t doubt the headphones sound great. For the price they better.

People get excited when they buy a new phone, and like to share it. That’s literally everyone.
I’m sure you can find a subreddit of people wanting to argue all day which is better. I’m 39 now and don’t have time for that. Besides, those people aren’t representative of the real world.
