In other news, Apple released $600 headphones

If I could get away with it I’d still have a flip-phone…

Dude, Nvidia released the 3000 series graphics cards and people purchased them right away as well. Not sure why you’re treating people buying an apple product differently than how literally everyone treats Tech products they want.

Yeah I don’t want to go down further that path, but just the best example of singular focus/talking head I could bring up. Did my best to avoid giving specific example for any person but instead for the position itself.

My comment wasn’t about people liking apple, it was about people being willing to pay the absolutely ludicrous prices Apple charges for their stuff.

Nah those sort of sucked. I liked the “jackknife” slider ericson I had. But to be honest the full touch screen has pretty much been my go to for anything.

I had one until about 2011 that had a little keyboard that came out the bottom. It suited my needs perfectly. I mean, sure it’s nice to be able to get my email on my phone, but do I really want to pay extra for it? Naw.

The Cult of Apple is real. I think we all know tons of people who have the mindset that everything that isn’t Apple is crap.

Ok. Samsung and Google also sell $1000+ flagship phones. Again the focus on “Apple is expensive” is super weird considering all major phone makers do the same thing.

They are basically cult members that is why they are willing to pay that price.

I wouldn’t, but then again, I wouldn’t buy any headphones that were more than $25. I have no reason to invest that kind of cash into something I might use once a month.

I have an apple phone and I’ll be the first to tell you to not buy any apple laptop/desktop post 2013/14. Accessories post 2015-6. Handhelds are up to debate.

As far as I know they don’t sell a thousand dollar monitor stand, or six hundred dollar headphones. Cell phones are basically tiny computers so a high price for a high end device is understandable (though in my personal opinion Apple does not make quality devices).

I feel like members of the Cult of Apple have a lot in common with Scientologist.

I don’t think they’re garbage. My iPhones last a really long time. Of course I take care of my things.

Of course, I will never EVER replace my phone every single year if I can help it and I have no understanding of why anyone does. I only JUST got a new one (the iPhone 11) a little bit ago to replace my iPhone 5S. YES, you read that correctly. FIVE S. The guy at the apple place acted surprised it was still running.

My iPods have been lasting a long time too. Though I was disappointed when I wanted them to look at the jack on my nano and the guy stared at it incredulously. Actually asked if it was an apple product (REALLY??) and then the help desk guy said they have no support for products over five years old. :expressionless: I was able to get it working again. :stuck_out_tongue:

I had an apple desktop once - it played Oregon Trail really well on my monochrome monitor…the rest of them? Best used for holding doors open on windy days…

Today does anyone try to game on the Apple desktop? Or laptop for that matter?

The same people who buy the rest of Apple’s overpriced products.

I like beats by Dre

Half as much, do the same thing

I would agree the monitor stand is expensive, but you don’t have to buy it. Their 6k display supports industry standard VESA mounting. Bring your own monitor arm/stand/mount.

People with more money than common sense.
