In light of upcoming paid server transfers--

I’m curious about the reasons aside from PVP imbalances, why players are wanting to transfer.

I will start: Old Blanchy, west coast, USA.

It is the home of a well known private server owner and he basically runs the server. You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t join them. If you don’t join his guild you’re left out in the cold with a small guild who doesn’t have enough people to complete end game content. As a result, several guilds have talked about merging but none of them want to let go of the power and control of having the GM title. The guilds are forced to team up which means that several players are left out because two guilds of 30 players with only 40 spots means 20 people are having a miserable experience.

The massive private server mega guild stripped the server of all firsts in the first two weeks, I mean, they’ve been running together for 15 years so it’s not like they struggled in a true vanilla experience. The multi-botting GM who ninjas constantly has 3 Mages and a priest all in tier gear and now he’s on his next set of 4 toons. There is no feeling of server community because people constantly come and go. Said premade mega guild from private server poaches the smaller guilds of fresh level 60s with ease because either there’s never enough players to make a full team (in the guild they’re poaching) or they get left out of raids completely because they are fresh 60s. Mega private Server guild owner then runs them free end game raid carries and gives them a piece of gear and then drops them from their raid group because it’s already full.

This dude has basically paralyzed the server.

I went into it with a 6 month sub but haven’t played for the last 2 months because I’m not interested in going through the pains of leveling to 60 and getting attuned all over again.

I’d honestly assume most people are going to transfer for PvP related reason. I stared on Old Blanchy on launch day because it was one of the only servers that didn’t have an awful queue. But I ended up moving since it’s a west coast server and I’m in the Midwest. Looking at your post I’m glad I did.

I started Old Blanchy because it was the only server I was able to reserve my toon name. I just so happened to catch it as they opened it.

Was on Grobb and liked it for the most part but RP isnt my thing and got tired of being pm’d by people saying they were going to report my name for being “racist” (yes really).

Ended up on Arcanite Reaper and its dead. Takes 2 hours to find groups for Strat/Scholo, the AH blows, and juat not a server that feels alive. Literally sat in UC for 3 hours this am shouting for groups.

I’ll be happy to go to an actual vibrant and healthy PvP server and not a dead one.

I’m moving because my wife just doesnt have fun on a pvp server. When were running around together its fine, but when she wants to do anything solo it’s a nightmare for her. So technically it’s for pvp reasons, but spouse pressure :stuck_out_tongue:

We havent played in around 2 weeks, and have no intention of playing until transfers are up. I am not going to play without her, the whole reason we play is to have fun. If she’s not having fun we have no reason to be playing this game, much less paying to be punished.

It pisses me off too because there WERE PVP to PVE free transfers up already, but they took it down before they let anyone know It was limited time. I pressured her into staying thinking it would get better for her… so I screwed us out of some fun… but oh well.

We have a life, so it really isnt a huge deal to not play a game that we’re not having fun in. Subs are done in 4 days and BG’s are not bringing us back.

I am on Old Blanchy, I am in a guild that is flourishing and has tons of members on at any given time of the day. I do not see issues with this server.

You guys do realize that there won’t be paid transfers, right?

Dude like, you guys can’t wait for battlegrounds to come out and see how it is? I don’t understand why you’re pushing so hard from something that could possibly destroy existing communities within wow.

Paid transfers were a thing back in vanilla, I don’t see why they wouldn’t have them since they’re a business that wants to make money and there’s clearly a market for it.

Arcanite repaer is already destroyed the server is dead. Why log on just to shout for groups for hours until raid time and then maybe your guild has enough for that

If people started moving away without regulation from the least populated realms these will end up totally barren. If anything, they will be merging realms instead of making the situation worse for these.

Blizzard has never done server merges, even with 10,000* completely dead servers on retail.

*exaggerated for sarcastic purposes

Won’t be moving. I just reroll. (That’s mostly true with vanilla, too. I think I’ve only ever transferred one character - a shaman from a PvE realm to an RP-PvE because I didn’t want to do the totem quests again.)

My primary group of characters is on Mankrik-Horde, with a couple Mankrik-Alliance, a couple Grobbulus-Horde, and a few Bloodsail Buccaneers-Alliance.

I rolled on Mankrik because I am playing with my family (brother and sister-in-law, her cousins, some of their buddies from other games). The key thing I dislike is the dumb character names. Population on both sides is pretty nice, AH is decent, multiple end-game guilds, fun wPvP that is always opt-in. It’s actually more populated than I’m used to, but I rarely played on high pop realms in Retail. (It works out when I play late, as it’s US East and I’m US West, so midnight my time is pretty quiet because it’s 3 am server time.)

Everyone deserves to be allowed to have fun in a game they are paying for.

It doesnt matter if you need casuals to beat on in order to rank. Now your going to have to get good, cuz you’re gonna have to play other pvpers. You were right, you pvp’ed better than the casuals. Good job. You farmed them relentlessly and they stopped logging in. Now they want transfers or they’re not coming back. You won.

This is supposed to be fun for everyone. PvPers are acting like we have to continue paying for this. Your golden age is over. You thought you wanted to run off the casuals, their tears were delicious you said…but now that they are running off, you’re mad. The only tears your tasting are your own mixed with your sweat from getting s**t on by other BiS listers in a bigger group.

It’s whatever for us casuals… We dont require this. We have lives and if we stop having fun, we leave the GAME. No fun, no casuals. We can continue to play on PvE servers, or not, but we wont be back to PvP servers.

The issue on Arcanite Reaper is that the horde is dead. Also shouting for hours in the AM is the issue especially during the week.

It’s about 63% to 37% A-H ratio. But about 1271 alliance level 60’s and 732 horde. This server needs some horde only transfers from overpopulation horde servers.

I mean AR is alliance dominated as all get out but don’t go spreading around falsehoods about the server being dead man. Use lookingforgroup and world chat instead of shouting in undercity?

Yes they have. My main server is Twisting Twisting Nether. It was merged with Ravenholdt during Mists of Pandaria I think.

No, it was connected to Ravenholdt. Different technology and both servers still exist.

Call it what you want. Its a merger. They jpin guilds together, they shared the same world resources, they have the same auction house.

I had a few alts on Ravenholdt it was my horde server. My alliance is still sitting there on Emerald Dream.

I remember the uproar when they were going to merge Ravenholdt and Twisting nether with Emerald Dream 100%. Which I understand because there is some toxicity on Emerald Dream.
