In-game issues - Secrets of Azeroth

I can agree with you on this and I cannot empathise this enough, that google and wowhead should both be sites to go to first when you can’t find something in game. The amount of times I’ve been stuck on a quest or wanted to know about some secret quests these two sites have helped each and every time. And a stupid question asked is better than a dumb mistake made.

I have spoken to Kathos. The quest is not offered to me. Theres no Golden Exclamation point. Its never been there.

I was able to do the future parts, and get the hat toy needed to get the torch. However, the bartender doesn’t give me the correct note. So I can’t get the torch. I visited the location, and I can’t pull the levers nor is the torch behind the fireplace.

When I speak with the bartender, he gives me the notes for the second part - the part where you go to the plains and use the torch. I can’t do this part because I can’t get the torch, because the quest is bugged for me.

Also, the hat toy should be highlighted Green with a check mark in the achievement. Mine is not highlighted green with a check mark. Its bugged for me. I can’t do the first part to start the entire chain of events on this character or any other character I have.

When I report that its a bug, I just get told to go to Wowhead.

Do you have Low Level Quest and Warband Completed Quests as being tracked? By your minimal there will be a set of binoculars. Double check those. Though talking to npc should bring up quests regardless.

You can also try a UI reset to rule out a corrupted UI element.

If it doesn’t work, simply rename/move the three folders back to get your settings back.

If you’re trying to report the bug by making a ticket, that’s about the only response they can give. GMs do not handle or forward bugs to the Devs so bug reports need to be made properly on the Bug forum or reported in game. Bug reports do not typically get a reply.

That is because gm’s do not take bug reports. They can not give game hints or help

Is this back to being a bug?

What a journey.

If Vrach is seeing it and ur not maybe that UI reset Jeysca mentioned above. Maybe low lvl quests.

Maybe this would be better here:

Ohh idk.

I do wish ya luck, though.

Have you looked in your ‘Toy Box’ for these quest items?

Yes. I have checked and tried every suggestion imaginable. Torch is not there. You need the Torch to continue the questline, and get the Mimiron Jumpsuit mount as well. Can’t do either of them because I’ve been phased out of the first part due to a bug.

I’ve even tried on other characters to see if the quest was available to them. And I still can’t do it. I don’t know what else to do. Been 2+ weeks of tickets and bug reports, and the issue is still not resolved for me.

This would likely be because it’s not a bug.

When Bliz looks for the quest, while logged on to your character, they see it. That means it’s something isolated to your game environment.

Bliz can’t directly fix your game environment, hence the suggestions being given here.

That is very strange. As I said, I tested that with your character and the exclamation point is above the NPC’s head and they offer that quest. There shouldn’t be any reason I see it and you do not, as I’m not using any special tools that change anything. It’s just walking up to the NPC and interacting.

At this point I’d recommend resetting your User Interface, if I can see the quest on your character and you cannot, that tends to mean something is interfering. I would give that a try.

No, you wouldn’t be able to as you haven’t completed the quest that allows it. It is odd that you were able to pick up the thinking cap quest, but it is likely that not all quests have a linear progression.

I reset my UI. Reset my computer. Closed / Reopened everyhing. Did everything. Still can’t see or obtain the quest. Playing on a fairly new PC with max settings.

I don’t know what else to do or what else can be done.

Did you do the reset ui like like vrakthris listed above? or just do /reset ui? The later will not do much of anything

I’ve already said it, but that really is strange. When we “hijack” a character, we should be seeing things exactly how you would, just with none of your addons, etc… So that quest should be available from that NPC in the inn.

Okay, let’s try this… Log out of your character. Let me know when you have done so. I’ll try to grab the quest for you and see if you can continue from there.

I’m fully logged out. You can try it now.

Just did. Give it a try. You should have the quest and just need to take to the NPC again.

IT WORKED!!! Thank you times a billion

I almost want you to try to abandon the quest and see if you can pick it back up again… but let’s just see if you can continue questing instead.

I was able to complete all the quests up until Clue 3. I already have the Thinking Cap toy, so according to Wowhead, the next quest should be given from Fangil Hoot - Called “The Tricked Out Thinking Keep”. I’m unable to pick up the quest.

For some reason, if I speak with the bartender, he only gives me the quest / item for Clue 7. I should be at the end of Clue 3. I have a feeling its going to be this way until I’m all caught up. :weary:

Just to confirm. Did you speak with Fangli and follow their instructions before speaking with them again?

Yes. I did. No other instructions or quests are offered by Fangil.

Okay. This is what I’d like to do. I could just grab the quest like I did before, but I feel you may continue to run into this issue so I want to see if I can dig into it more.

It may take a few days to get answers back, but I’ll reply here as soon as I can.
