Combat logs doesn’t tell you I am hiding under the bridge your on, SPY does!
Lots of addons automate player actions. MACROS automate player actions. Are you intentionally this dense or just enjoy crying?
Spy doesn’t give location, only that a player is in proximity with the ability to target… Christ I wish they required an IQ test to play this game…
I hit the key that effects that macro, its not automated at all!
You’re extremely Rude, and clearly cannot handle Civil Discourse!
The addon gives information the player is unaware of, you want to know if i am hiding in that abandoned shack you should get off your mount and come check.
SPY tells you i am hiding close somewhere probably in that shack!
You have to click their name to target them, just like a macro. Keep trying…
Dwarf, medium build with thinning red hair and braided mustache hiding close somewhere probably in that shack. Goes by the alias Gash. Likes imported cheeses and freshly caught Darkshore Grouper. BEWARE! ~ SPY
I didn’t know they were under the bridge to target them? Please show me the macro that auto targets enemy players?
Thats funny.
I don’t have to be nice to you and I abhor stupidity, hence the aggression.
You’re aware the Spy addon exist, therefore you should expect people to be using it. People still have to search for you. You can’t make a valid point other than “WAAAAAAA… People know I went stealth.” Get over it, they’ve already changed the distance. Stealth outside of 50yrds or go to PVE snowflake. I’m done with you.
I am not a snowflake, I am not stupid…
Using Ad Hominem is not an argument stance!
Addons that performed the same exact function (scanning logs for trackable events and created clickable player lists) definitely existed in vanilla in various forms. They weren’t prolific like spy, but they existed for those that wanted to find them.
As I said earlier, if you didn’t know about them or use them in vanilla, it was because you were too stupid to look for them, not because they weren’t there.
Nerfing the range is fine, the facsimile is as close as it can get now without changing the API for addons back to classic.
This is (yet another) example of when people assume that a change is caused by an addon changing, when in fact it is almost entirely caused by the player base having 15 years of experience under their belts.
Ad hominem implies I only insulted you and I didn’t destroy your argument as well. I’ve done both.
Why does everyone have the inability to not insult? Can one not have an opposing opinion without being scorned and chided?
Such maturity on display here…
Because people dislike stupidity. If you were smarter, you’d understand that.
You insulted me twice, you lack the ability to reason and cannot for a moment even see my side, therefore yes you are done here.
Who’s insulting you? If you lacked the mental capacity to wonder whether it was possible to get an addon that might track people based on the event log that existed in the game the best way to describe that trait (or lack thereof) is stupidity. I’m sorry if it offends you; it isn’t intended to. It describes the vast majority of players at the time (which is why the addons that were like spy at the time had users in the thousands, rather than in the hundreds of thousands or millions like now).
Players got smarter over time, and learned by osmosis from others how to best navigate the game and its capabilities with addons and features that always existed but were heavily underutilised.
Straw Man, SPY did not exist in vanilla!
