shut it off end of story there is no need for it for anyway unless your buying runs. other than that it’s worthless anyway. i mean they give people the option to shut it off yet people want to complain instead of shutting it off. just like forums many don’t like them either yet they come here lol. same with the internet people complain about stuff on there no one is forcing you to be on it lol. the majority of the people playing this game are grown people and ya i know kids do play if my kid was playing it wouldn’t be on anyway so.
From playing since vanilla I disagree with you. Chat always has been toxic and arguably far worse during vanilla, so it’s been like this since the beginning. Ignore lists have no cap, and ignoring huge chunks of players or a group of players isn’t hard to do.
Your playing a game where you are murdering animals, stripping the land of it’s resources, killing other people that don’t belong to your group of people, and killing bosses not for simply for justice but for loot items to clothe your greedy character in order to gain more power to commit more atrocities. Your alright with all of this behavior in a game, but it’s the toxic language that you could easily solve by using the ignore option that is so morally reprehensible you can’t get past it.
Am I understanding you correctly?
Barrens Chat basically acted like containment, but no longer satisfied to trash its cage, the beast escaped and is now trashing the mall.
The problem is that Blizzard just made it so trade chat doesn’t exist in covenants anymore, making it harder for there to be communication, that might stop a lot of the idiots trolling, but it actually increases congestion in Oribos making me lag more when passing through the capital, so harder to find groups on my server without using premade group finder.
Or you could grow a thicker skin.
But what about us casuals!? Huh huh?! I don’t want to deal with other people or try to make friends or join a guild! Blizzard just make a que-able chat system that places me in random guild chats so that way I can have the same thing as you hardcore raiders!!!
/s
Lmao could you imagine?
Don’t put these ideas out there in the universe! You know someone on GD will love this idea lol
People pollute every channel. If i want to chat id go on facebook or twitter or what ever i dont pay game time to chat. /leave channel then you dont have to put up with the turds
I have 2 chat boxes. 1 for channels, the other for group/raid/instance. I don’t even notice the one that doesn’t have green/orange/blue text. Some times I see motion in it from NPCs talking to themselves or each other.
I don’t hang around in hubs long enough to make use of the chat channels. Every now and then I’ll glance at that first chat box to see someone asking for help with a specific rare or something while I’m knocking out a few WQs or something. But that’s it
Could probably consolidate to 1 box and /join /leave channels as I need them
You had me almost until the end of your first sentence. Troll.
0/10 too obvious
Concerns around volunteers acting badly are certainly valid, and is why I’d proposed that volunteer mods who act badly get banned as a result.
What does a new player who doesn’t have established guilds, friend lists, and communities do?
It’s a ‘world’ channel. It would be great to have a dedicated “world chat” but LFG has to suffice
Join a guild. Make friends. Join communities.
Global Ignore List is a quality of life addon that provides a greatly enhanced (unlimited) character ignore system

We are the moderators of wow chat. If someone says something and the people in chat have a problem with it report them and they’ll get insta squelched if there’s enough reports
I know, I know it’s Asmongold let’s not go there but it’s the only video I know of that demonstrates the instant silence. If a person isn’t instantly silenced then that means there’s not enough people there OR there’s not enough people that care about what’s being said.
How do they do this when they have to /leave channels because of the toxicity in them? With group-finder you almost never group with people from your own server, so that doesn’t work…
This is not a cost effective solution. Blizzard is a business, they are going to use a solution such as
That’s us, it’s already in game, right click and report. The offender is investigated and reprimanded if necessary.
And that’s what ya got, put it to good use.
I always suggest discords
No on my server or servers group (retail).
I do not play Classic but i have heard rumors about high level of Toxicity!
I swear the Random Guild Finder was one of the April Fools jokes, but if it is, WoWpedia knows nothing of it. I am betrayed by technology.
Edit: I have found it! It was hiding in the 2011 “patch notes”.

You’ll also note this gem that I’m still waiting on:
- Show/Hide pants has been added to the Interface Options menu.
In game guild/community finder
Meet people in LFD/lfg
Guild recruitment forums.
Various discords if you’re into that sort of thing.
