this is pure tech talk.
How do you enable it? I have a amd 5700tx with Intel I7 3900?
I will never get anything nice. I play off an on too much. Still hats off to the ones who does get it. Plus i found the last statue at goodwill. Got lots of wow stuff for 40 bucks totals.
Itās automatically enabled (it was for me anyway). System-Advanced-Ambient Occlusion Type.
Just a quick question for you did you remove the old drivers before downloading the new ones as I had the same problem until someone asked the same thing the told me to get either the AMDcleanuputility or DDU to remove them and mineās running find now
Itās happened on full clean installs, AMD software support is just trash.
The last set before this one crashed every night. Iām not the only on whoās having issues, even Jays2cents mentioned that bad software support could kill the newest gen of cards.
good reply. most people should gain a really decent outcome from doing this first.,
The reason some people complain about 5700 XT and others donāt is down to the timing of when they first bought the card.
Iāve owned a 5700 XT since launch.
At launch it was very buggy in certain situations. Features not implemented or that were implemented but caused crashes.
About two months after launch most of the bugs were fixed and four months after all the bugs were fixed.
Now the drivers have even been improved further and the 5700 XT performs even better now than at launch, whereas Nvidia cards stay the same or get worse.
Overall, I liked the card. I like amd, I just hope that they donāt become corrupt as they become more successful, because I always just buy whatever company sells the most pro-consumer product. I am a bit disappointed that AMD isnāt making smart access memory available on the 3000 series CPUs, but maybe this is something they will consider in the future.
Iām also very disappointed with AMDās support of OpenCL on Navi so far. As someone that has wanted to attempt programming a fluid simulation on a gpu over the past year, Iām so disappointed this was not possible on the 5700xt until very recently (the last week/month)?
The 6800xt should have better OpenCL support from the start, but ya that was so disappointing.
Overall if I had to choose today, Iād buy the 6800 XT over the 3080. Mostly because when looking at all current ray tracing games, ray tracing doesnāt make much of a difference visually (The 6800 XT gets 4k 60 with ray tracing on, in WoW). The 6800 XT has the same or better non-ray tracing performance and I believe that the 10 GB of VRAM (on the 3080) isnāt enough to run, even some older games, at ultra 4K, let alone the new ones.
The 3080 Ti will be a really good product Iām sure, but I am tired of waiting for geforce cards to come in stock and the 3080 Ti doesnāt even have a release date yet.
If you buy a 6800 XT you know that AMD wonāt make a 6800 XT āsuperā or some other type of card. If you buy the 6800 XT you know that you will have the ābestā *800 card until the 7800 XT comes out, instead of having buyers remorse with NVIDIA (for example buying the 3080 with 10 GB of ram and having a 20 GB ram Ti model come out 6 months later).
Uh huh. Sure.
Imagine having buyerās remorse just because you donāt have the latest and greatest. Thatās the wrong line of thinking especially with tech. Always buy what serves your needs. Do I want to spend $1k+ for a 3090? No. Do I even need a 3090? No. The 3080 will serve my needs best. Which is 1440p resolution and higher than 80 FPS in games with maxed out graphics.
If you claim to see a difference between 100 and 144FPS as a non-professional player, youāre kidding yourself. Unless youāre a high tier competitive player, capping out your FPS to whatever it is thatās the technological limitation now isnāt going to look better visually. There are plenty of comparisons demonstrating this on the interwebs.
I can see a huge difference in smoothness between my 144 Hz and 60 Hz display.
This isnāt about 60hz vs 144hz, keep up.
Iāve been in software development for a long time and I can tell you that using a new technique to perform an existing feature is called optimization.
Graphical fidelity in games is looked at as a triangle of sorts involving detail, redolution and performance. Having just one of those is not an increase to fidelity
tl;dr; Optimization != Increased Fidelity
I had that issue as well in the past i been nvidia for life now they seem to always have driver issues vs nvidia cards for some odd reason.
Just noticed fidelityfx was on by default
On max settings in maldeaxus at 1440p, I get 175fps in one area, when turning it to ASAO it dropped to 152. Not bad for free.
Iām on
5ghz 8700k
32gb ddr4 3200 cl16
XFX Raw II 5700xt 2124mhz, 1800mhz memory, +50% power limit
Itās not that quick all the time, but offer 100 is pretty much the norm outside of certain situations
DLSS please.
Thank you.
What? Shadows arenāt clearly defined because the sun is a disk, not a point of light.
while i donāt use AMD I always appreciate optimization of game performance.
ever since the new NVidia driver update and FidelityFX CACAO on i get weird flickering of foliage and trees especially in bastion and reverndreth but almost in no other zones and definitely not other games do i get this weird flickering so its def something with the nvida card drivers and probably this new setting youāre talking about.
