Improved Graphical Fidelity in WoW

same thing is a game of blame, FidelityFx, the graphic card or wow =( no one is responsible

DLSS when?

dlss2.0 you mean? That’s a different technology but I hope AMD is working in their own AI upscaler. It really is amazing.

normal maps, reflections etc… is 18 years and still look like it was done for sega / nintendo 64 =(

is time they start putting an effort on the game looks

I teally wish we would have a graphical over hall of the game. Every expansion y’all just make incremental improvements here and there.

Have you seen the painted trees in elwyn foreat? It looks terrible.

Are we playing the same game???

Because the new BFA-DF zones compared to OG zones are night and day…heck even MoP zones look great…

The artistic style in some of the SL maps looks great…

the use of normal maps and add specularity to the game, nothing shines some shields does but they dont have a layer of specularity and reflections, dont have normal maps so all looks flat, is been 20 years since that technology appear. why not use it? i am not asking global ilumination,

can you give me an example of that?

When will we see performance improvements in 40v40 battlegrounds?

One hell of a necro, but they already have upscaling technology, it’s call AMD Fidelity FX Superscaling.

well there goes another year another nothing for my commodore 64

Hi! Super curious on this one. Nvidia’s Geforce Experience appears to recommend ASSAO over Fidelity FX CACAO–although this post seems to imply that the latter is the recommended configuration for most folks.

Any thoughts on this one other than Nvidia just not wanting to tip the hat to AMD? I highly doubt that’s it, but who knows  Is there an objective reason they would recommend one over the other?

Gotta love AMD :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I sometimes wonder if WoW’s foundation is so old that it is now hindering development. There are so many things Blizzard’s artist have to do by hand that many (if not all) modern game engine automate. One has to wonder how much of the artists time is wasted by working with such an ancient engine as the one WoW runs on.

The game doesn’t even support normal maps, and that’s something that became common during the PS2 era.
