Last night had a normal-speed mob run right through the entire AOE from tip-to-tip without ever being snared. Not because of resists, but because of a busted mechanic that has persisted for 8 months and counting.
Completely accurate. Itās infuriating. My favorite is when they finally get the snare when they are about 2 yards for you and well outside of the blizzard.
Spell batching is so terrible. But, Blizzard wonāt admit their mistakes so weāre stuck.

A: This is actually not related to spell batching. Traps and AoE abilities check for the presence of targets during a heartbeat update. If the target moves through them between two heartbeat updates they will not notice the target. This is how it was in the original 1.12.

Thatās on top of the fact it takes 2 seconds to deal damage from a channeled (not cast) spell that is supposed to deal damage every 1 second.

What was described by the blue post is precisely what is happening in that video. Mobs take damage from Blizzard but continue moving at normal speed because they were between heartbeats.
Are you confusing āheartbeatā with ādamage tickā? Those arenāt the same thing.
This is why every raider should have engineering. Canāt take chances with these mobs.
