Yeah that’s pretty goofy, which is why nobody’s saying anything like that.
Small point. It’s been a month before some of us showed up here.
Another small point. Some of us have read the literature, consulted the entrails, dug out our old calculators, and determined that we’re kind of boned…before we put fingertips to keyboards.
And that, there, is a good point of why the current system isn’t working…that there’s only (1) correct answer.
A wide variety of things people can do about their “problems” have been suggested.
Unfortunately they don’t understand the problem. They are trying to tell me it’s okay when clearly it isn’t and will just cause players like myself to stop playing. Talk about tone deaf. I got 2 days left on my sub if I can’t make progress towards 100 instead of being hard stuck at 80. I’m out. Period.
I can just play other games where when I log in I feel like I am making progress, instead of trying to AFK at a table watching netflix hoping an order comes up to progress. Obviously the current situation feels bad and just makes players not want to log in.
Another Expansion…Another Doug.
The order system is some serious jank. The only thing I used it for was to get a drake customization. Mats weren’t an issue because I dual gather, but I can’t imagine how much of a nightmare it must be on the crafting side.
None of which are outright wrong, but fail to address the timeliness needed.
If no one cared to ever personally craft and use the bow in the current content, sure.
If there’s no path for that to happen…then there’s not a “solution” to the question.
Just more evidence that if you weren’t min/max from the very instant you started…
Ya, I found crafting and gold making fun but with how they’ve set things up now I’m also gonna be OK to just let my last few weeks run out.
As for this community, there are a lot of dismissive and tone deaf individuals… I’ve come to accept it and try not to bother with them anymore. But that said, seems the devs in this game share the same attitude at times lol so not surprised they do t hings the way they do.
The entire basis of this thread is that the game is UNPLAYABLE unless the number on the original poster’s profession tab is 100.
Not 99, not 98, not 97, not any other number. The game is RUINED unless it says “100”.
Meanwhile, many of us have explained, over and over and over again, that having 100 base skill is not important.
The entire thread is an absurd premise.
This is the crux of the problem. Blizzard’s thought was how everyone would just be super-wanting these crafted epics, so they made those the only way to max out a crafting skill. Except people do NOT want them. Anything I am capable of making is basically vendor trash. The few times people do want one of these items, they want nothing but the max quality of the item – which you can’t attain without maxed crafting skill – and so you don’t get to craft anything and you can’t max your skill so you can’t craft anything later either.
These epics are NOT for the people running M+. So many posts here go on about people running +16s, but the highest ilevel of the crafted gear to come out of the crafting system can be obtained from a person’s vault for running all of a +7 and any serious M+ runner is FAR AND BEYOND past that as of weeks ago.
These epics with which we were supposed to level our crafts have NO MARKET. I called this out before Dragonflight even released and EVERYONE said I was completely wrong, but here we are and WOW, LOOK! I was right!! Worse, these epics use time-limited soulbound items to craft them so you can’t just craft a pile yourself and vendor them either.
This whole system is terrible. The orders system is a failure – nowhere near enough people are using it and the people who try to use it are upset by not getting max quality items back from it. The crafting itself is far too complicated. The in-game instructions are far too vague and the NPCs to teach you crafting are scattered across every damn zone on the islands instead of anywhere convenient. (Of course even they don’t offer much actual insight so they’re not that useful anyhow.) I can’t even keep track of all the garbage involved in getting something crafted myself, since you have finishing reagents and embellishments and qualities of those things, then also qualities of crafting materials, then soulbound crafting things, then the skills of the crafter and on and on and on and bloody on. It adds up to I don’t even want to bother having anything crafted for myself. It’s too much of a convoluted, hoop-jumping headache and I’ll deal without it.
Subjective ain’t it.
If you want better skill, more recipes etc to level up or what have you, you picked a bad area or fell into a trap… that last one for 100 is important to THAT PERSON.
You and a few others on this forum are really obnoxious and intentionally being dense.
I thought the premise was that there not being any public crafting orders means that people can’t get more skill points…which was a block on doing more that they wanted to do with their professions?
That was my understand of the “unplayable” portion of “playing” crafting.
Was there another conversation going on the side?
Thank you for being someone willing to say this. I think the people here are being intentionally dense and it’s insulting to the people who are having legitimate problems. I’m sensing a lot of them are the handful who got in early with some super-rare pattern and now THEY are all set and their noses are too high in the air to see the masses of people in the gutters at their feet who happened to be not lucky.
They had one, briefly, between the end of week 1 and 2…then the majority of people who needed the jumpstart had it.
Now it’s carries for gear…goodbye reason for crafting anything that isn’t still a BiS epic.
You’re welcome and don’t mind brewa, he is more of the type that will tell you ‘‘doesn’t involve player power so it’s not important’’.
There’s a very brisk trade going on in crafted epics. It’s all going through personal and guild orders.
What on earth are you talking about?
EDIT: Oh! You don’t know about Primal Infusions, I guess?
That’s part of the issue.
Which only matter to a seriously small subset of players and crafters…who, by your own admission, have already retreated into guild and personal work order traffic only.
There are half a million characters running 15+ keys, so far. Those award the 418 ilvl crafting materials.
There are far more doing the 11+ range, which give the 405.
Everyone also gets a 405 infusion when they beat Raszageth for the first time, or max out any of the 4 base renowns.
I do know about them… okay, then the crafting system is equally matched out of the vault with someone who runs a +12. Does saying that make you happy when most serious M+ players are on +17 and higher by now? They still don’t need crafted gear.
EVEN IF THEY WANTED TO USE THAT ITEM, THEY WOULD NEED SOMEONE MAXED OUT IN CRAFTING SKILL TO MAKE IT WORK FOR THEM.
So my point stands solid.
If you can clear normal VotI is already isn’t.
I’m honestly not sure what to tell you. Getting anything at “max” requires around ~140+ KP.
So the fact that you changed your mind on what you want to do half way through is really not a problem with the system.
There are a lot of things wrong with the profession system. Your complaint isn’t one of them though.
Oh my.
Crafted gear goes up to 418 ilvl.
Just FYI.
