Imagine your progress being deleted

I only play the game for classic. Private TBC servers were not ever nearly as popular as classic servers before the relaunch.

I never cared for TBC and I get that some of you want it. Great. Do it without me. You’re not going to pull me in just to inflate your experience. The petition I signed was for classic, not a progressive rehash of all content from 2004 to today.

and what are you gonna do when barely anyone is playing Classic anymore ? you still gonna do your herbing and questing ? who are you gonna sell the herbs to ? who are you gonna group up with for the quest ?

In the time Classic opened until today, take that same amount of time and there will be even less players on BC. Once you get outside the initial starting zones Hellfire to Zangar most of the maps are frankly boring. In spite of the player guide bs from those who have never played BC its very competitive at the top and chances are your also ran hunter is gonna be spamming LFG. Some of these guilds cant handle Naxx and you think BC will be easy hah ha.

I strongly disagree. Outland had some of the most diverse zones, whereas most of vanilla was pretty standard fantasy. HFP was rather bland, obviously, but I loved every other zone. It was also amazing to look up and see the Twisting Nether. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean a lot of people won’t be playing TBC. Because TBC is going to have the vast majority of the population.

The hardest part about Naxx is consumable cost.

This is why I want fresh tbc and keep existing servers classic.

Fresh servers will likely happen, but it’s unknown how Blizzard will handle current servers. Likely current servers will be ghost towns a few months after TBC launch if they force people to transfer off to progress.

There is simply no way it’s forced fresh TBC. That is the absolute worst option.

I respect that view Experia however a lot of us like standard fantasy over the Steampunk in space that is BC. I disliked the 65+ zones especially Blades Edge and Nagrand. My only reason for maybe making a BC alt would be Gnome on an Elekk which is the best ground mount ever released in the game.

It makes no sense to wipe the classic servers. Maybe you merge them when enough people transfer over to TBC or whatever. But I don’t see any reason why I can’t level my TBC alt while I level alts and PvP in Classic. It would be idiotic to not let people do that because you are only adding value to the subscription, and you’re also not giving players a reason to go to private servers.

Nobody is talking about wiping them. Most people are suggesting progressing them, while allowing people who want to stay in Classic to move to a select few servers to preserve the population.

Even if they force anyone who wants to play TBC to copy their characters, very few will come back to Classic - as there isn’t really a reason to come back to the originals. So the servers would still be dead.

With all this talk about keeping old versions of WoW around… I wonder if we will ever hit a point where Classic catches up with Retail because we go through content faster.

I mean if rumors hold true. We will be progressing from Vanilla to TBC in a Year and 9 Month. It took what three years originally? So will we hit a point where classic and retail murge and then we just have older version of wow on some realms.

Read OP.
There are other threads from people worried about losing their vanilla progress.

This is a tired argument that ignores the reason Classic came about in the first place.

Yes and from my experience there were already a few dead servers in BC on new BC servers at its peak, like The Underbog etc. Even the BC private servers from what I can tell were all nearly dead compared to full Vanilla servers because after the initial surge through the starting zones it quickly becomes an non casual non world pvp friendly place with an empty Nagrand map, empty Blades edge map, a few people farming dragon mounts and then there is Terokkar. Terokkar confuses me because it should be an engaging map but its not. Some things are ok for BC but will not touch it unless I am in a decent progression guild, just hell no.

Vanilla wasn’t more popular than tbc. There just weren’t any good tbc servers. It had nothing to do with popularity. The scripting was bad on tbc servers.

I signed the petition too and I was hoping for tbc to follow.

If anyone transfers it’s not the tbc players. You don’t move 100,000 people instead of the 10,000.

Why does it always have to turn into a popularity contest with you sheeple?

Alls I said was I want my cake and to eat it too. I don’t care which way you do it is justified in YOUR mind, the outcome is the same so I do not care.

I support TBC progression so long as there is an option for players to transfer to a eternal Classic Vanilla realm if they choose. There is demand at least for 1 vanilla eternal server and fresh.

I want this option becuase when TBC progresses to wrath i have no intention of playing wrath and want to go to my eternal TBC server with everyone else that loves TBC.
