Imagine M+... without timers!

This would be so good for the community. Players would not be so hateful, or quite so quickly, etc… And it would still be equally as hard. The scaling might be a little different… Players that used to clear 20’s might now be clearing 25’s but that would change across the board so it wouldnt matter. All of the rating, and all that would work its self out… You would just have less toxic players since its no longer timed.

Special ppl would wait for hero/lust every pull turning a 30 minutes dungeons to probably 6 hours.

Or just remove Bloodlust since it’s ancient. It’s not necessary to have anymore, it’s just flavor. Also the original Bloodlust from Warcraft 3 wasn’t something that was cast on every single unit in a radius all at once, you had to cast individually one by one with multiple Shamans because they would go OOM.

Non issue. Players that use that 6 hours to simply do more dungeons, will typically still rank higher. However, if that’s how they want to play… let em? Who cares?

You are right, we should get rid of the down time and let shaman spam it.

Let them spam it, have it cost 20,000 mana and only increases haste by 10%. That’d be interesting.

Some bosses can be solo’d, so the boss fights would be rigged to be even harder.

That too is fine… They tune everything anyway… so just tune away. You have to admit playing without a timer, would eliminate a lot of the toxicity. And it would not really change the overall game play by much. IN FACT… imagine back in the day when we used to have no m+ and the dungeons were hard enough that even with good gear we had to crowd control mobs to fight certain packs?!! Man that was fun!!

Thats what would happen, if they made no timer. We would scale up to a point where we would just start cc’ing stuff that we couldnt handle… and that would be really fun! Would still require coordination and what not… and we’d still have to be able to beat the bosses… But it wouldnt be a race and toxic players…

A few bad ppl spoils every thing mate, that how all ours rules and regulations are based upon. In game and in real life.

So yeah a few special ppl like this is why we can’t have nice things .

Well you go to wow history about players doing dumb stuff and winning dumb stuff affiliated to wow, I don’t believe any company would want bad rep

Nope. Players would be equally toxic. Just because the timer is gone doesnt mean anyone is going to waste time in a dungeon with you while you underperform.

Why waste 6 hours in a dungeon when I can drop group and find people that can do it in 30 minutes?

And you know raider.io would still post completion times so its not like people wouldn’t know how long it should take

Current mechanics is if you die, you get timer penalty and if you wipe, timer penalty is higher. Failed runs are due to excessive deaths and wipes.

Without timers means you can die and wipe as many as you can without getting penalized. You would want to do M+59 becoz you can even if the group has a Million Deaths. Good thing, stupid stuffs like that is not in the game.

I was just agreeing out of the whole “freedom” angle. but in reality it doesnt matter if they stand around lusting every pull for 6 hours… because if they can kill the bosses, then they can kill the trash. So… That wouldnt ever happen.

Yes people would wait for lust on every boss… at higher levels. Maybe… but I have a feeling trash will take so long they will have lust back by the boss anyway.

Or better yet… Just put the reset guy at every boss… and design the bosses to expect lust.

We will have to agree to disagree here. While I do admit some players will be toxic… a majority of players don’t want to be toxic, they just dont’ want to waste their time.
So if they can complete the key with you, and they believe that it will be completed they would likely stay. There is a limit sure… Dying every single pull maybe… but if that’s the case then you probably shouldnt be similar IO to each other. Even so… more often than not players would be less toxic.

This already exists in the game, in three forms:

  • Delves
  • M0
  • Raids!

Or, you could just ignore the timer and try your best and let the chips fall where they be… :dracthyr_shrug:

Players complain incessantly about toxic players in Normal and Heroic dungeons, neither of which have a timer…

Timers are bad game design. Any system which gets rid of timers is an improved system.

But your suggestion is a system built around wasting time instead of incentiving doing things as efficiently as possible

Have you ever raided? There is a lot of “toxicity” in progression raiding despite having no timers. I’m not even sure how you think that it wouldn’t be equal or worse in 5 man content thats easily grouped for and spammable

Amazing how we got delves which can provide exactly what OP wants but he wants to strip another endgame of its identity.

This community is needlessly greedy and a vast amount of silliness going around.

Only on a forum like this can you read something so ridiculous.

Imagine football…no quarters…no timers…game goes as long as it wants to until both teams agree to end it.

gogogo has been stuck in the minds of players for a half dozen expansions, not sure it’s possible to unwind that
