DLC that you pay for in their stores would be comparable to paying for each patch in an expansion and buying gear to help you do the content. For the most part the mounts ,pets and even transmogs in the store are nothing like DLC.
Once again as people have pointed out . We just want to see more effort in what we get in game. THey could of thrown the transmog in with this years anniversary 's rewards.
How are they nothing like DLC? You’ve never seen costume packs for games before? It’s the same thing.

Or imagine they have a ready template:

You are so willing to die on this hill aren’t you .
It has gotten to the point that this is really starting to feel like a troll thread .
One thing i learned from this thread, most of wow players happen to be artists that smell their own farts
Oh no, OP disagrees with me, she’s clearly a troll

No I said it is starting to feel like one and I am willing to bet I’m not the only person feeling that way right now.
Yeah some games have game skins you can buy in their shops too but like you said those are mostly single player games that you don’t have to pay a sub for.
I have no problem with Overwatch having skins you can buy because once you buy the game it is f2p . I do however have a problem with WoW having such items because even after buying the game/expac I still have to pay a monthly fee to play .
Can you see the difference. 1 is you play for free and purchase items to offset the costs of servers and purchase each patch. The other you pay to use the servers and receive the patches as part of the initial purchase .
This may have been the most clueless post I’ve ever seen in my life
You may need to rethink this insane defence OP

Weirdly enough in most threads people have been justifying the cash shop because of tokens.
Which in itself is already giving money to Blizzard and is also a unstable value compared to a ingame achieve or a static in game gold price
People defending any cash purchase are maybe the worst thing to happen to the game only beat by blizzards money making schemes
I can not for the life of me understand how people endorse this system

They had a minor point where they were insisting you can still grind gold and convert to tokens.
I pointed out that having a in game goal which is static is better than a unpredictable moving goalpost which is the tokens.
They don’t agree and just keep repeating the token argument
The tokens are as toxic as the shop, maybe more so
What is worrying is that supporters of the shop are going on spreading information how you can get the transmog easily but do not bother to elaborate on how token prices change every time
To me and this is only an opinion but it seems like older players are not big fans of it but the younger ones that are used to cash shop games are for it.
i think these people don’t understand the long term implications where people giving more money in the cash shop will encourage Blizzard to spend more time there.
Not all of them, and if it’s multiplayer and there’s no sub it’s because they’re making money a different way, usually through micro-transactions or loot boxes. Companies can’t maintain games if there’s no money coming in. You can argue all you want that Blizzard is already making enough money from subs, but 1. You can’t know that, and 2. Even if they are, there’s nothing wrong with making extra money so they can either A) Have bigger budgets for expansions or B) Use that money for new IPs. Overwatch would never have existed if Blizzard only made enough money to cover WoW’s costs.
You can’t even buy skins in Overwatch, though. Only loot boxes. I’d argue that loot boxes are a lot worse than the WoW shop because you can buy a bunch of them and not even get the skins you want. But for some reason, people would rather hate on the WoW shop. It makes zero sense.
I used to play guild wars 2 and I’d use the cash shop in that game
I wasn’t paying a sub for it so I had no issues with throwing money at the screen because I was enjoying the game
Also their money to currency and gold to currency was way better balanced too
Exactly . If playing is free and you enjoy the game you have no problems using the shop because it helps them make more content.
This is exactly what I suggest: If you want the cash shop to exist, the sub should go or WoW should be free to play.
I don’t know why people are so happy to throw more money at a company which has declined slowly.
